Cheryl Blossom POV
After the consultation with Friederick, I decided to cancel my appointments today and went home to rest, my body was begging for a break.
Finding Marjorie as soon as I left the office made me feel a little uncomfortable, and if I wanted to stay up for dinner, I would have to run home.
Maria didn't ask anything when she saw me arrive before lunch, but said that if someone called, she would wake me up.
When I thought I would finally get my well-deserved rest, I felt my shoulders being shaken and when I opened my eyes, an impatient Maria held the landline in my direction two hours after I lay down.
I got up a little groggy and she handed me the device, leaving the room while saying something I didn't understand.
It took me just over ten seconds to compose myself and automatically put the phone to my ear, whispering a robotic "hello".
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Blossom, sorry to call like that."
"Who are you?"
"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Kevin Keller", That still doesn't tell me anything, "I am the owner of the apartment that Mr. Mark rented when he came to Los Angeles. Your employee called me and said that ..." ,Wait a minute, "that gave all the gas I needed to get out of bed and start going around the room."
"The apartment, of course .. tell me, did he leave any address or phone?"
"We always ask for this kind of thing if the person leaves without paying. I have credit card receipts and an address, but it's in Berlin."
"Can I ask you a favor, Kevin?"
"Sure."
"I want you to take all the documentation he left to Blossom Enterprise today, will you? This is really important."
"Umm... no problem, Mrs. Blossom, it's a pleasure to help."
"You will be rewarded. Come in two hours. Have a good afternoon."
"Good afternoon."
I threw the phone on the bed and started a dance dance around the room, singing old and cheesy songs.
It was the perfect opportunity to track Mark without him knowing that I was doing it.
Any use of the credit card and I would find the coordinates of his breathing.
I stopped in front of the mirror and smiled widely, making me feel even better on that rainy Friday afternoon.
Apparently, my day started again on the right foot and I intended to keep it that way.
The dinner with Marjorie and Toni would close with a flourish or give a tremendous turnaround in everything I have been planning.
"But what is this mess?"
Maria entered the room holding a cloth and threw it over her shoulder, placing her hands on her hips.
"Are you in a good mood?"
"Ah, Maria, I think I'll finally find Theo."
"Really! This is wonderful news, child!"
She took my hands and wiped a tear that formed in the corner of my eyes.
"Don't cry, everything will be fine. Go take a shower, I prepared a reinforced afternoon coffee and there's no point in arguing that you're not going to eat anything."
