Chapter 1

      Marinette's POV: 

      I was in denial.

     I met Luka Couffaine in my junior year of high school. 

    I dated him until he disappeared from me without a word my senior year.

   I reunited with him when he reappeared in my freshman year of college.

   I got engaged in my sophomore year, and the summer before my junior year, I married him.

   I  loved him.

   I was married to him for five wonderful years.

   "What happened to us?"  I asked myself.

 Marinette's  POV:

 I noticed Luka started to work longer hours than normal.

At first, it did not bother me since he worked hard for us.

 Then, I begin to suspect something was off.

   I recalled he went away on business trips for a few weeks at a time.

    This would have been no big deal except he had hired a new secretary.

    I used to be his secretary.

    I  remembered the days before I gained weight.

   I was the best in his eyes.

     Why had we drifted apart?

       "Alya, I think Luka is unfaithful!" I blurted out.

       I  watched as my best friend laughed.

       I could not believe it. I poured my heart out, and this is all she could do.

       "Alya, are you even listening?"

       I  heard her turn around.

      To my amazement, Alya did not say another word. Instead, she hugged me. After the hug, she handed me a note, then walked away.

        This took place three days ago, which leads us to now...
