Chapter 2

      Luka's  POV:

    I, Luka Couffaine, am messed up.

    I met Marinette years ago.

   Sure, I left town without telling her.

   I made it up to her when I dated her again in college.

   I was thrilled when she agreed to marry me.

  I loved her.

  I was married to her for five years.

   What happened to us?

Luka's  POV:

I worked long hours.

  I hired Chole on as my secretary.

I knew my wife worked for me.

 However, I felt embarrassed by her.

 First, I  noticed that she gained weight.

Then, I recalled she was not affectionate as she used to be.

Luka's POV:

I saw that the newbie wore dresses that fell just above the knee line.

 I  realized the dresses were a bit low cut.

 I  should have told her to correct this behavior.

 I never did.

 Instead, a week after I hired her, I asked her to eat lunch with me.

  I  never cared about how it looked.

 I  treated her to lunch.

 I  held meetings after lunch.

 At some point, she kissed me on the cheek.

 I  convinced myself it was an innocent kiss.

 Luka's  POV:

Today, I told her that I was not sure what this meant.

 I could tell she was angry.

I called my wife.

 I needed to hear her voice.

I  convinced myself I was not sure what to do.

 What was the best plan?

 Should I quit my job or what?
