Chapter 53

    Adrien's (Chat's) POV:
  

   "Ladybug, Adrien is my friend. It is important to me that you are kind to him."

    "Fine, Chat, I will try for your sake."  

    "Thanks, Ladybug."

    I did not tell her Adrien was hurting.

   I could not reveal my identity before she was ready.

  Besides, she did not know I already guessed through her pseudonym.

  I had ruined our relationship before it had a chance to blossom.

  My only hope was that somehow she would hear me out when it came time to meet.

    I clung to the hope that she could learn to love all of me.

   I loved her.

  At first, it was as ladybug, but then as Marinette.

When I first met Marinette at Alya and Nino's wedding, I knew she was ladybug.

   It was because of all the things they had in common. 

 Ladybug and Marinette are a single mom and feel unloved.

   I saw the ladybug baby bottle and the Ladybug sandals Marinette wore with the red dress.

    It was too obvious.

 I only hoped I could hold it all together before the meeting.

  I also held onto the hope she would hear me out.

  I feared that she would think the whole thing a cruel joke.

   My heartstrings felt as if the scar were about to open again should she reject me.

     "Ladybug, I am afraid."

    "Chat?"

   "I am so scared that you will hate me."

    "  Chat, don't be ridiculous. You know, I could never hate you."

     "I  live in a townhouse. I used to live in a mansion."

    "Wow, that is rather neat. I have never met anyone who lived in a townhouse before."

      "I live in a small house. It is smaller than an apartment."

       "Do you think maybe I could hear your voice?"

        "Chat, I am not sure that is a good idea."

      😭   "You don't trust me."

     "I do, but I am not ready."

      "Fine, I will send you a recording of me singing."

     Before she could object, I sent her a recording of my singing a song I recently wrote.

     The song is called  "Healing Hearts" by Chat Noir.

   Below are the  Lyrics to the song Adrien recorded under his chat room name- Chat Noir.

     "Healing Hearts,

      Mine and yours,

   We have been through so much,

  I can only hope and dream

that someday you will be my girl.

We have yet to meet,

but I feel

as if I have always known you

Ladybug, I am sorry for all that has happened to you

  a lady like you deserves better

deserves someone who can be there for her when she cries,

when she smiles, when she sleeps and awakens

when she does all those things that make her you.

within six months

and then we will see

if you still care for me

as I do for you.

    Oh,  darling  Ladybug, please do not give up

  On me,

because I promise my babe not to give up on you.

one-of-a-kind

yet mine feels like it beats

 in sequence with yours.

So, do not let me go

I truly love you so.

"Chat, that was beautiful."

  "Did you write it yourself?"

  "Yes."

 "What was the instrument?"

  "The piano mostly, but I did play the guitar, trumpet, and keyboard for part of it as well."

   "You sounded talented."

  " Ladybug, I have never written a song for someone I love before I met you."

      "Chat, thank you."

  "You're welcome, anything for you, m-Ladybug."

      I hoped she would not notice I almost typed her real name but caught myself before I could get past the m. Maybe she will think I was going to say mine.
