After all I've done

Chapter 10

Anna-
It's only been a day without her and I break down every time someone even mentions her. I can't believe she's actually gone. I miss her so much. I've been staying in my room. I haven't eaten or drank water. The person who told me she died must have been responsible. How would they know my number, where she was, and that I was supposed to meet her there. Should I try to find out who's responsible? There's no point in sitting in my room starving myself, I could at least do something productive like find out who murdered her.

I got up, got dressed and left. I went to the police station. I kept the messages from the person who told me she died. I'll show them and they can track the number. The whole way to the police station I just thought about the memories we've already made. I started to break down but quickly gathered myself together as I arrived at the station. I walked in and it felt like all eyes turned to me. I walked up to the counter.

"Hey can I speak to an officer?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am may I ask why" she said.

"My girlfriend was recently murdered and I got a text saying she died and I think the person who sent the message might be responsible" I said.

"Oh dear I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll get an officer right away." She said picking up the phone.

"Take a seat" she said again.
I sat down and waited until an officer approached me.

"Here about the diner shoot out?" The officer said.

"Um something like that. My girlfriend was shot and killed. I got a message around the time of the shooting and it said she died so I was wondering if we could track the number."

"Yea may I see your phone?" He asked "also go ahead and go in one of the interrogation rooms." He said again

"Okay thank you" I said.
I walked to the interrogation room he led me to and sat down.
About 20 minutes later he came in the room.

"Well?" I asked

"This message was sent over an hour before the actual shooting" he said giving me my phone.

"Oh so what does that mean?" I asked worried. Was she not killed in the shooting? Was that just a cover up for what actually happened?

The next day-

Anna-
The officer from yesterday told me that I was now going to help with the investigation. He said I had good information on her murder. The only thing he found suspicious was that they found a phone that had a picture of a girl next to me. Eva's phone... the weirdest part about this was they didn't find her body just her phone. She had messages from her best friend dev. They were arguing about running away. They never mentioned where. The officer said she might have been running from someone or something and she didn't want me to know. He said they might have used her death as a way of covering up the fact that she left. But Eva wouldn't do that to me right? She would've told me she needed to run away. She would've at least said goodbye right?
