Chapter 32

5 years later-

Anna-
The past 4 years have been miserable. Me and Eva broke up after she cheated on my for a second time with of course Connor. I guess they ended up together I don't know I left LA after that. I haven't found anyone else. I just don't believe I can love someone else as much as I loved her. I wonder how she's doing. Eh I should probably leave her alone. I've been getting bad urges to call her the past few days but I don't think she'd answer. My life honestly went to shit when I left her. Definitely something I will forever regret. I heard my doorbell ring. I live in a small house on the east side of Detroit Michigan. It's only one bedroom and one bathroom which is all I really need anyways. I got a dog. His name is spot. He's an Australian shepherd. I got up to get the door. I looked around and no one was there but there was a paper on the door mat. I crouched down and it was an invite to a wedding.

Dear Anna,
It's been a while since we talked. 4 years to be exact. Incade it hasn't hit you yet this is Eva. I know I'm probably the last person you want to hear from especially this way but I just didn't think this day would be complete without you there. Me and Connor are getting married. You probably don't care but we now have a beautiful daughter named Anna. I don't think Connor noticed but I named her after you. The person who showed me what true love was. I never meant to hurt you the way I did Anna. I'm truly sorry. I want my daughter to meet you at my wedding. And who knows maybe we can be friends again.

I felt a tear roll down my cheek. At least she's happy now. I looked back outside one more time and saw a package. I picked it up and brought it in the house. It was two more boxes one had a tux and the other had a dress. There was another note at the bottom of the box.

I was my sure which one you'd wear so I did both.

I smiled. I miss her. Maybe it'd be nice to see her again. It sucks it has to be this way but it is what it is and I can't change the past. I looked back at the other note and the front said 'E+C august 10th 2026' my smile faded. That's tomorrow. I decided I'd wear the dress. I went to bed that night thinking about Eva.

Wedding day-

Anna-
I woke up and put on the dress. It was a light shade of lavender. I had tears rolling down my face the whole way to the address on the note. I finally pulled up about 1 hour later and there was so many people. I saw her mom and her dad talking to Connor. He was holding a little girl around the age of 3. She had a mini version of the dress I was wearing on and she had pigtails in her hair. I pulled myself together and got out of the car. I knew I wouldn't see Eva until she came out so I guess I'll just sit down and get awkward looks from people.

I got out of my car and walked over to the benches. I sat down and just waited. Soon everyone sat down and 'here comes the bride' started playing. I saw Connor take a deep breath and everyone stood up. Eva came walking out with her dad. She. Looked. Amazing. We made eye contact and she smiled. She took a deep breath and started walking with a big smile on her face. Her dad soon walked her to Connor. He kissed her cheek and sat down along with everyone else. The pasture began talking. They said their vows and all that then their i do's. They kissed blah blah blah. I couldn't keep my eyes off Eva but I have to remember she's married now and has a kid. I sat back down and Eva came over to me.

"Hi Anna" she said sitting next to me.

"Hi Eva" I said staring in front of me.

"It's nice to see you" she said.

"Yea you too" I said. We had a small conversation. We caught up and all that. Soon her daughter came running over.

"Mommy!" She yelled. Cute.

"Hi sweetie" Eva said placing Anna on her lap.

"Anna this is...Anna" she said to her daughter.

"But I'm Anna" she said.

"Well this is who you got your name from she is one of mommy's old... friends" Eva said.

"Nice to meet you" I said to her daughter. I played with her daughter for a while. It started to get dark and it was time for Eva and Connor to leave for their honeymoon. They drove down the street and my smile faded. It was fake but it still went away. I got in my car and went home. I got out of that uncomfortable ass dress and laid down. Spot came and laid on me. I laughed and pet him soon falling asleep.

I'll love you forever Eva. Even when I'm married. Always and forever...
