Alaina skipped downstairs in a better mood then she was before. Jenna looked at Alaina as she skipped around the kitchen. She looked at Elena who sighed. "She met this guy at school and he gives her all the attention."

"Elena, for advice in the near future." Alaina says nicely. "Not every guy is going to pick your first." She said. "You have got used to being picked first that you don't know how to react to someone getting picked first."

"That's not true."

"Yes it is." Alaina said. Jenna looked between the two knowing that Alaina was making a point. "It's time for you to open your eyes before you ruin your friendship." Elena looked at Alaina as she looked at Jenna. "I'm gone."

Elena followed as she was going to ask Bonnie and Caroline what Alaina said is true.

"Alaina, you know there has to be smut." Caroline said.

"All we did was talked." Alaina tells her friends. "And if there was smut, I wouldn't be telling you." Caroline and Bonnie laughed. Alaina sipped her drink as she listened making Alaina reply. "Girls, just to get you to stop talking about it, I'll go to Stefan." She says making the girls laugh besides Elena.

Elena looked at Bonnie and Caroline as Alaina left. "Do I always think I should be picked first?"

"Yes." Caroline replies. "Every guy always went for you. You got so used to being first that you didn't see how you hurt me when it came to someone I wanted to date." Elena sat shocked. "I'm glad Stefan picked Alaina as they are perfect for one another."

Caroline walked away to get some food as Bonnie sat quietly waiting for the blonde's return. "Bonnie?"

"Elena, for once let someone else be happy. Alaina has been by your side from the beginning and she doesn't want to ruin anything." She said. "Let her be first this time."

Alaina arrived at the Salvatore house. She was in awe at the house. She has never seen a house this old and beautiful. Walking up to the door, she noticed it was opened. "Stefan!" She called out as she walked in.

Alaina smiled as she looked around the front room. She has never seen a house like this before. Deciding to leave since Stefan wasn't there, she walked towards the door when she ducked because of a crow. "Great. Now I have to get that crow." She turned to bump into someone. "Sorry..."

"You must be Alaina." The blonde nodded. "I'm Damon. Damon Salvatore."

"Oh. Your the family Stefan doesn't talk to." She replies.

"Yes." He said. "I'm surprise to see that Stefan moved on after the last one."

"Don't even start." Alaina tells him. "If Stefan wants to talk about he's past, than he can, but you. Your out to cause trouble."

Damon was shocked by the blonde as she walked around. "Well I'm still going to tell you."

"The past is the past." She tells him. "I'm not concerned with who Stefan dated. I'm concerned about now."

"Alaina?"

She turned and walked over to him. "I thought you would like to hang out." She asked.

"How about at the comet?" He asked making her smile.

"Deal."

Stefan watched her leave and looked at him. "I heard ever single word. If it's not you than it's Elena." He said as he sat down. Stefan was glad that Alaina wasn't worried about his past.

The next day, Alaina walked downstairs to hear Elena complaining to Jenna. "He flat out told me that he likes Alaina. She's sweet, loyal, and doesn't think of herself as the one who should get all the guys."

"Elena, maybe Stefan only sees you as a friend." Jenna said. "Alaina made a point yesterday and you have to understand that there are other people besides you."

Elena sighed as Alaina snuck away with a smile. She couldn't believe Jenna would stand up for her instead of Elena. Smiling, the girl decided to find something to do.

That night, Alaina was standing by herself with a candle when Stefan stood beside her. "Hi."

"Hi." She replies. "I heard Elena tried to talk you out of going out with me."

"She did." He said. "I told her that I was interested in you." Alaina smiled as he cupped her cheek. Elena stood near watching. "I don't want someone who reminds me of the past. I want someone that is loyal, sweet, and puts others before her."

Alaina smiled as she walked away with Stefan. "So Damon tried to bring her up, but I told him the past is the past and this is now. It's none of my business what happened between you."

"I will let you know later." He tells her as he saw Vicki with Damon. "Alaina, why don't you go get something to drink and I'll meet up with you later." She nodded and walked off to do just that.

Alaina became worried for Stefan and went to his house to see if he was okay. "Alaina?"

"Hey, you never showed and I became worried." She said.

"I got into an argument with Damon." Alaina nodded. "I forgot about meeting you and came straight home."

"Your fine." She tells him. "Want to head back to the comet."

Stefan nodded, but grabbed her wrist. She looked at him. They smiled at one another before sharing a kiss.
