The Dance

Night began to fall onto Jackson the sky darkening with each passing minute. Aurora and Dina arrived hours before both of them swinging around the dance floor like idiots. Jesse leaned against the bar watching them both like a hawk, Jamie still nowhere in sight to everyone's surprise. Aurora and Dina danced around the bar hand in hand entertaining the kids around them everyone laughing at the sight. Even having this much fun Aurora couldn't take her mind off Ellie wondering if she would show up or not the last time they talked having been a day in a half ago.

The fairy lights illuminated Aurora's face with a soft yellowy glow her eyes sparkling in the light. They laughed and hummed along to the song playing, they were so into dancing Aurora hadn't even noticed Ellie walk into the bar and stand at the counter taking a drink of some sort of alcohol. The song finally ended and Dina and her stopped dancing both out of breath and laughing at each other. They both wandered over to the bar chatting to each other not noticing Ellie standing there a look of jealousy dancing in her eyes just like Dina and Aurora moments earlier.

"Hey Ellie." Aurora looked up when Dina spoke making eye contact with Ellie still laughing. "Hey Dina. Hi Aurora." Aurora smiled to Ellie settling herself on a nearby barstool while Dina stood by Jesse quietly arguing about something. "Oh this is one of my favorite songs! C'mon Ellie." Aurora jumped up grabbing Ellie's hand dragging her to the dance floor. "I don't know how to dance." "It's not that hard, Tommy taught me in his living room and we didn't break anything so I call that a win." Ellie looked back at Dina her eyes wide with nervousness but Dina only smiled nodding silently telling her to oblige and turned away taking a sip of her drink.

"Alright arms around my waist." Ellie complied setting her arms on Aurora's hips swaying along to the song. "See your already great at this." Ellie laughed quietly leaning forward more so their faces were now closer. "Not as good as you." Aurora couldn't hide the blush that rose to her cheeks hoping the fairy lights helped out but she wasn't sure they did. "I don't know your doing better then when I first tried." Ellie shrugged looking off into the distance biting her lip, "I'd say otherwise Aurora." "Call me Rory, I prefer it. Like you used to." Ellie looked back into Aurora's eyes with a now dark look in them her smirk becoming clearer which only made Aurora more nervous.

"Alright Rory, I'm betting that your a better dancer then me." Aurora rolled her eyes, "I doubt that Ms. Williams." They hadn't noticed how close they were now there faces inches away from each others both of their eyes filled with lust darkening in the light. "I have to disagree with you then Ms. Montgomery." Finally in a slow yet surprising moment their lips met both of them closing their eyes enjoying the moment their lips dancing together like they had been moments before. Ellie's lips were slightly chapped while Aurora's were quite soft the two creating a contrast that they wouldn't argue with.

Finally after a few seconds they pulled apart opening their eyes meeting both filled with adoration. "This is a family event, we don't need that stuff get out of here" Ellie turned to glare at Seth who had now walked up to the two but Aurora only shook her head and rolled her eyes grabbing Ellie's hand, "Sorry. Don't worry Seth we were just leaving." Seth glared obviously drunk, "Remember next time kids are around." Aurora rolled her eyes an alcohol induced anger beginning to show, "Because your setting a great example right?" "Oh just what this town needs, another loud-mouthed dike."

Ellie had enough the peaceful moment now turned into a furious fight, "What the fuck did you just say?" Ellie turned around trying to walk towards Seth but Aurora was latched onto her arm not letting go of her hand stopping her from launching at Seth. Joel ran up pushing him away like Aurora with Ellie hoping to defuse the situation, "Hey, hey get the hell out of here." "Hey get your hands off of me." By then Maria ran over separating Joel and Seth whose chests were both puffed out towards each other. Tommy had also appeared by her side sending Aurora a sympathetic glance that she ignored letting go of Ellie's hand walking towards one of the doors.
