When I got home I propped Serayah's head on the pillow like the doctor said and let her fall asleep.
I started to clean the house a little and cook when I got a FaceTime call from Semaj. I was hesitant but I answered the phone anyway.
"Hello." I said.
"Wassup." He said.
"Nothing finna cook." I mumbled.
"You good?" He asked.
"Yea I'm fine." I said.
"I told Nicole to take your daughter out. I was letting somebody else use my car at the time and she had just walked in and had the same thought I did." He said.
"Thank you, I was just pissed off and ready to go off on anybody. And I didn't know that you knew Avontae." I said.
I had to throw that part in the conversation cause if that's the case that means that he knew who I was before he met me at the tattoo shop and was just waiting on Tae to fuck up.
"Yea, his family cool wit' mines so-." He shrugged.
"So you knew who I was this whole time?" I asked.
"I actually didn't. He never said anything specifically about you all I knew was that he had a babymomma he not the type to tell who he fuck wit'." He explained.
So why bring Londyn around?
"I was just calling to check up on you cause that situation was foul as hell." He said.
"Thank you, I'm good and trust me it's not gone be no more situations like that." I laughed nervously.
"You busy tomorrow?" He asked.
"I'm booked tomorrow but I should be free the day after though." I said.
"Ight bet." He said and I heard a knock on my door.
"Hold on, imma call you back somebody's at the door." I said and hung up.
I opened the door and the devil himself was standing in front of me.
"What do you want Avontae?" I stood in the doorway.
"Listen I'm sorry, I ain't mean for that happen. I just want to know if she's good." He said.
Usually I can tell if he's lying or not but this time he actually looked concerned for the first time in forever. I guess the highness wore off.
"I had to take her to the emergency walk in she breathed in the stuff y'all were smoking." I said.
"Can I see her?" He asked.
I looked at him contemplating on whether or not I should let him in.
"She's sleeping right now- I'll just wait until she wake up then, I'm not leaving."He cut me off and I opened the door wider so he can come in.
I closed the door and locked it as he sat down. I ignored his existence as I walked back to the kitchen to cook.
"Sabrea." He called out but ignored him as I was cutting the potatoes in half. He kept calling me so I stopped what I was doing and went to the living room sitting across from him.
"What." I said dryly.
"Can you at least put the knife down, damn." He mumbled and I rolled my eyes as I put the knife down.
"I really ain't mean for that to happen- Why would you even bring her around them. A bunch of niggas and bitches doing whatever and she's the only child there." I cut him off.
"Londyn said she'll look after her while I was there." He said.
"She is not to be around my baby or touch my baby at all. She's a complete stranger. You shouldn't even be comfortable bringing her around one of your hoes that you not even wit' for real." I said.
"So that's why you mad cause another bitch was holding her." He looked at me.
"I'm mad because of what and who you surrounded my daughter with. And on top of that don't make it seem like I'm some jealous ass bitch cause I'm not it's just about my respect." I cleared up.
"I got enough respect for you as a father to not have other niggas that you're not cool with or haven't met around our daughter. I'm just asking for the same type of respect in return." I continued.
"I hear you." He mumbled.
"You hearing me but I don't think you understanding what I'm trying to tell you. You deadass put her in danger. They had to put an oxygen mask on her because of a decision you made while being careless." I said.
"I do understand what you saying and I get that I made a dumbass mistake. You know I wouldn't intentionally do shit like that I wasn't even in my right mind." He said.
Avontae and Serayah has a very close bond she's a daddy's girl even though I hate to admit it. He's a great father to her and I wouldn't take that away from him but this situation just messed my head up on everything.
"I'm taking you to court so I can get full custody of Serayah." I said and he stared at me.
"That's how you gone do?" He continued staring at me.
"I messed up one fucking time and you trying to take me to court- That's all it takes is one fuck up." I raised my voice.
"After all the shit I did for you. You acting like I don't take care of her. I defended you when mfs kept trying to lie on you and say that she wasn't mines I was there every step of the way." He said out of anger.
"You defended your mother when she starved our child why you ain't take up for me then huh?" I asked.
"I handled that already I just ain't tell you." He said.
"Whatever." I mumbled.
"You really finna do this, you gone take my daughter away from me?" He asked. "I just seen her for the first time after me being away for 3 months and this the shit you pull." He said.
"Avontae." I said.
"Nah instead of having a mature conversation with me and figuring this out you wanna take me to court." He said and the baby monitor sounded when Serayah sounded to cry.
"You should go check up on your daughter." I looked at him and went back to the kitchen as he walked to her room.
I put my hands on the counter and just stood there. Now I feel like I'm going about this the wrong way.
