Chapter 20 : Black Rose

NERO POV:

I saw her in the middle of the crowd, being escorted by my younger brother. She's so beautiful and elegant; she's wearing a gown that exposes her skin, and fuck! She looks so sexy, I hate it.

All the eyes were on her, and it felt like they were admiring her beauty tonight.
I want to scream from way up here on the terrace to let out my anger and frustration.

I hate that the male vampires were smiling at her and fantasising about her beauty. Does she know that she's killing me slowly up here? I guess she doesn't have an idea, tsk.
 
"Hey, Nero baby. Look at me! Do I look beautiful in my gown?" Beatrice said while slowly turning around, and I was looking at her with a plain face.
 
"Yes," I replied, but deep inside I want to kill her.

Then she smiled at me as if I liked it, and then she looked at the people down the hall.
 
“Tsk! That girl again, I hate her Nero, why is she even here? I know she's just flirting with Vincent."
She said while looking at Celestine up here and I'm now at the edge, holding back my anger.

“Celestine is important to us.”
I said that surprised her; she knows that I shouldn't tell her that because, as far as she knows, I am still under her power, but I really can't hold back anymore.

Naiinis ako! Alam ko na ngayon na ginagamitan lang ako ni Beatrice ng Seducing Charm na ability niya bilang bampira. Kaya pala binabalaan ako ni Vincent na lumayo sa kanya.

Tsk! I never thought na kaya niya itong gawin sa akin.

I was a fool to enter her trap, buti na lang at may nakasalubong akong matandang babae na hindi ko kilala kanina.

Flashback:

I'm here now in the garden of black roses; it's a little far from our palace because it's outside the boundary of our kingdom. I really like this place; it's very beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. I just don't know who planted or takes care of this garden, but it looks like it blooms on its own. From here, you can see the kingdom of Usteria back then, which is now covered by big trees, grass, and broken parts of a wall. I wonder if Celestine wants to see this place.

I looked at the four roses that were blooming beautifully in front of me, and I couldn't stop smiling while picking them. Though it's black, it still has its own unique beauty. Then I remembered Beatrice. I smiled and planned to go back to the palace.

Cause I can't wait to give these roses to her; I know she will like them.

"Alam mong masamang kumuha ng mga bagay na hindi sa'yo hijo..."

Natigilan ako ng marinig ko ang isang boses ng matandang babae sa likuran ko, kaya napatingin ako sa kanya. Nagdugtong agad ang kilay ko dahil hindi ko siya kilala at hindi ko rin siya nakita kailanman.

"Who are you?"

Tanong ko at ngumiti lang ang matandang babae pero kahit puro kulubot na ang kanyang mukha ay nababakas ko na maganda ito nong kabataan pa niya. Puting puti na rin ang mga buhok niya na natatago ng kanyang kulay lila na balabal at medyo nahihirapan na rin siyang lumakad na walang sungkod.

"Hindi mo na kailangang kilalanin pa ako hijo. Kanino mo ba ibibigay ang rosas na kinuha mo sa aking hardin?"
Tanong niya at tinuro niya ang apat na rosas sa aking kamay. Napangiti naman akong tumingin sa kanya.

"I'm sorry if I took it without asking your permission, ngayon lang kasi kita nakita dito. I thought roses only grew here without anyone taking care of them. And I took them because I was going to give them to my beloved..."

"Hmm okay lang... Pero Mahal mo ba talaga ang babaeng pagbibigyan mo n'yan hijo?"
Medyo nagduda naman ako at napakunot ang noo sa tanong ng matandang babaeng kausap ko.
