Xisuma glanced back at the Season 5 world, biting his lip as he silently said goodbye. It was always hard to say goodbye to a Season, but Xisuma knew it was for the best, that the next season would be even bigger and better. Closing his eyes, he focused on gathering the void energy to create the exit portal, feeling it swarm inside his mind as it was summoned, draining the supply of built-up force. After a couple minutes he opened his eyes, feeling exhausted but satisfied once he'd created it.

"You done?" Mumbo asked from behind him, causing Xisuma to turn around. He nodded, smiling at the moustached hermit, who was currently fidgeting nervously.

"We have an hour until it disappears, but obviously once this world is empty it'll stop working," Xisuma said, typing a message in chat saying he was ready. The Hermits all began saying they'd be there in a minute, which Xisuma didn't doubt as most of them were familiar with the process.

"Every time it gets harder to leave each world behind," Mumbo said, biting his lip as he looked at the last year or so's work. "But every time it's worth it, because the next one's better," he stated, turning back around to the portal and staring into it's inky swirl of colours.

"I feel you," Xisuma said, understanding what Mumbo meant. He'd only been there a season longer than him, and understood how he felt, but he always had the urge to keep moving on.

"How exactly do we do this?" Zedaph asked nervously, and Xisuma smiled at him.

"It feels weird, but it's not that bad," he reassured him as the hermits slowly gathered around in a group. Eventually, Xisuma opened his mouth to make a speech before deciding against it and glancing around, deciding to go in first when nobody volunteered.

"Wimps," he said jokingly, rolling his eyes as he stepped into the portal, waving as the nausea settled in and the new world came into sight.

He stumbled out of the portal, the hermits following like a wave soon after, but they frowned when the entered the world. Xisuma steadied himself on a tree, feeling slightly dizzy from the effort of getting them there. Once the portal disappeared, he stood up, feeling a weight in his heart when he saw the world.

It might look normal from a distance, but if you took a quick glance at it, you could tell something was wrong. It had an eerie feel to it, enhanced by the subtle purple tint in the air. Some of the blocks seemed a bit too 2d, and the plants looked slightly cartoon like and decayed. In the distance Xisuma could've sworn he saw a skeleton standing in the sun without burning, and he fervently wished the portal hadn't disappeared. And it wasn't like he could make a new one for a month or so at least.

"I think something's wrong here," Mumbo said quietly, but the sound echoed around and distorted unnaturally, making it sound a lot louder. Doc snorted, rolling his eyes.

"Wow Mumbo, we couldn't have worked that out for ourselves. Please inform us more of your wisdom," he said sarcastically, squinting at what he assumed to be a sheep.

"He's right," Cleo said, shivering slightly with unease. "It feels wrong here."

"Suma, can you create another portal or something?" Joe asked, his tone calm yet Xisuma could tell he was unnerved. He shook his head, walking towards a tree and punching it, relieved when the item seemed to drop like normal.

"The void energy was used up, needs time to refill. It's complicated admin-y stuff, but the short answer is we've got to wait it out here for a month or so at least." False began punching her own tree, creating an axe before attacking the nearby sheep, frowning when it didn't drop any food. She was relieved when the chicken dropped raw food, as did the cow.

After they'd collected a couple of basic resources, they started walking, hoping to find shelter of some sort. Soon sunset came, and they began to get worried, as some of the passive mobs had seemed aggressive and wrong, so Xisuma was worried as to what the aggressive mobs would be able to do, as respawn mechanics in this world seemed broken.

He munched on a porkchop, looking around for a shipwreck or village nearby, yet they hadn't been able to find any in the few thousand blocks or so they'd walked, the main reason they'd not gone further being the constant breaks the have a joke or something, yet despite the cheerful atmosphere Xisuma couldn't relax.

"It's getting really dark," Impulse whispered, biting his lip nervously as he glanced around at the corrupted surroundings.

Corrupted. That was the word Xisuma had been looking for to describe this world, corrupted. It looked broken, like it had been hacked or something, which didn't make entire sense as this world was supposed to be brand new, but the portal had probably glitched or something. He wasn't sure. That's what worried him.

"Guys, I swear I can see something up ahead," Stress whispered, squinting in the dim light.

"It doesn't look natural," Cub replied racing forward to have a look before being held back by Scar.

"I mean, we have to stay somewhere, right X?" Iskall asked, eating a piece of cooked chicken. Xisuma nodded, his heart hammering with worry as he pushed open the door and stepped inside.
