Ren woke up soon after dawn, creeping down the stairs as he tried not to wake any of the others up, deciding they needed their rest. He noticed 4 of the beds were empty, but he chalked that up to Xisuma likely not getting any sleep whatsoever. Once he reached the bottom, he noticed the fire was out, making it fairly cold, so looking through a chest, he found a flint and steel, lighting a piece of netherrack, soon causing a blazing fire that heated the place.

Ren soon realised that Mumbo, Xisuma Doc and Iskall were missing, so when he heard the sound of pistons moving he jumped, racing down the ladder to where they presumably had been, expecting to see just the four of them building some sort of Redstone contraption, but instead saw a door opening a few times as they clambered out, but instead of there only being 4 people, 5 came out.

Ren's eyes were drawn to the 5th figure, nervously trying to hide behind Mumbo. He looked fairly young, maybe in his early 20s, and had a blonde fringe that hung just above his eyes. He was wearing a red sweater, but the back of it was mostly covered by some purple wings, about the length of his arms.

"Where were you?" Ren asked, pointedly choosing not to ask about the person they appeared to have picked up, walking towards the button and punching it, holding back a smile when he realised how bad the redstone was.

"We found a secret passage and X thought it led to Narnia," Iskall teased, earning them a light push from Xisuma. "Ok, fine, maybe the last bit isn't true. But there was a secret passage - what did you expect us to do, the smart thing?" Ren laughed, breaking a hole into the redstone with his wooden pick axe, smiling slightly at the sheer amount of Redstone used for such a small door.

"Where did it actually lead to," Ren asked, placing the stone bricks back where they were, the texture seeming slightly stretched and warped. "And who's he?" Grian shifted uncomfortable, pressing himself against the wall as if trying to blend in with the stone.

"It's- a complicated and long story that I don't know all of," Xisuma said, beginning to climb the ladder. "And I'd rather only have to explain it once." Ren nodded, following him up into the lounge area of the tower, and sitting on one of the stairs, noticing that Stress and Bdubs had come down - Bdubs was the only one of them with an ordinary sleep schedule, and somehow he managed to follow it to the minute, refusing to stay up as late as the others simply so he wouldn't change his sleeping pattern. Ren had no idea how he did it.

"The others should be down in a couple minutes," False said, yawning as she bit into a piece of bread and stoked the fire lazily.

"I'm assuming none of you got any sleep?" Bdubs asked, seeming rather perky despite the eeriness of the place they were staying in. They all shook their heads simultaneously, not looking particularly guilty in admitting that.

"Care to explain anytime soon?" Ren asked, once again looking at the person hiding behind Mumbo. Bdubs and Stress seemed to notice him for the first time, both looking slightly confused and suspicious.

"Explain what?" Impulse asked, hopping off the last stair and sitting next to Ren.

"Wait until everyone's here," Xisuma said, leaning against the wall and glancing at the boy next to him. He wrapped his wing around himself self-consciously, and Ren was confused by the wings. They didn't seem natural, like they weren't originally part of him yet blended with his back as if he was born with them.

"You're saying they aren't?" Doc asked, raising his eyebrows and looking around.

"I'm confused," False said, glancing around, her eyes finally settling on the boy.

"OK, so I'm gonna explain everything," Xisuma said, raising his hands and stepping back.

"Me, Doc, Iskall and Mumbo found a secret passage, because apparently those exist here, and it led to another tower a couple hundred blocks away. Where we found Grian, who appears to have been living here for quite a while and seems to know this world a lot better than us. I offered to take him to Season 6 once the void energy refills, in exchange for him helping us to stay alive." Doc folded his arms, leaning against the wall and glaring at Grian, giving Ren the feeling that he wasn't too happy with that deal.

"How long have you been here?" Stress asked, turning to look at the figure still pressed against the wall.

"Umm, if you mean in this world in general, a year or so, maybe longer. If you mean since it's been corrupted, a couple months." Stress nodded, sinking back into her chair and her face falling into a concerned expression. After a couple minutes, Doc pulled Ren into a separate room, shutting the door and pushing a chair against it.

"Doc, what are you-"

"I don't trust him." Ren blinked, not entirely surprised but slightly shocked behind the suspicion and anger behind his words.

"Doc, I get where you're coming from, but-"

"No, you don't get where I'm coming from. He attacked us and clearly knows more than he's letting on. Ren, I thought you of all people would understand."

"I do, it's just... He's not done anything to harm us other than- I mean, you attacked back. And he reserves the right to privacy, you can't force him to tell you every detail. There's probably some sort of trauma behind it-"

"He's threatening our safety by not telling us." Doc's voice was firm, as if he'd already decided.

"Doc, I get where you're coming from but I can't support you in that. Give him a chance." He sighed, biting his lip and pulling the chair away, stepping away and glancing at Doc before leaving the room.

Doc did have a point.
