Season 7 started today.

Grian had arranged with the Evolutionists and Listeners that he would spend a couple of days in Hermitcraft to get the Season started, and once he was ready he'd send a signal to the Listeners to make a portal, which would likely be pretty soon after as he'd been obsessively trying to work out how to make a portal for the past 8 or so months. His assumption was that Taurtis was left behind in the original Evo world, and so he'd been trying to work out how to get there using the Listeners guidance.

He'd frustratingly worked out that they needed to learn the world IP to access the old world, and the only people who knew that were the Watchers. They'd changed it, but because they'd kept Taurtis there intentionally and didn't want them to get him back, or just to punish him he didn't know. The listeners couldn't track him as they needed his biological imprint or something, and because Grian had such a close connection, he, needed to do it. And he hated that because he didn't know how.

He'd been trying to get his watcher magic to work at a higher level to make it possible, and a few of the Evolutionists and Hermits had picked up on how much time he spent untraceable. They knew he was trying to get Taurtis back, but they didn't know how hard he was trying. The most they picked up on was the consistent flow of phantoms following.

Grian said a quick goodbye to the Evolutionists, trusting that the listeners would look after them, hesitating before stepping through the portal, pulling his Hermitcraft gear out of the chest and flying over to the shopping district where Xisuma was going to make the portal.

Grian was undoubtedly nervous, as he'd grown attached to the Season 6 world and didn't want to let it go, and he didn't want it to go wrong. His consolation was the piece of paper linked to the listeners, so all he'd need to do was write the new IP address and they could create the portal.

Not that he completely trusted the Listeners.

He'd had trust issues since before Evo, so that made him trusting the Listeners that much harder, but he did believe they were going to get him back to Evo.

Grain landed in the shopping district, tucking his wings behind him as he steadied himself against the building, noticing he was the last one there and that everyone was waiting for him. He muttered a quick apology, but Xisuma shrugged it off as Grian slipped in next to Mumbo.

"Well, I guess another Season's come to an end," Xisuma said, smiling. "Time really flies - it doesn't seem like that long ago we were ending Season 5." Grian smiled, remembering when they'd first met, his smile fading slightly when he remembered the Watchers.

Their names had been Silver and Zena. He'd found that out when they first turned him into a Watcher, illegally it turned out when he'd done some research.

"Last one through the portal's a wimp," Mumbo said, grinning at Grian before racing in, followed by a lot of the Hermits until it was just Grian and Xisuma left, just like before. Grian waited a few seconds before following Xisuma in, and upon reaching the other side, they'd arrived on a mooshroom island.

Grian was the first to recover, hardly feeling any nausea or unease as he stood up, blinking away the slight effect the portal had as it disappeared. Grian helped Mumbo up, digging up a piece of mycelium and throwing it to him, laughing.

After a few minutes, Grian started punching a tree and collected a decent amount of wood, flying off the main spawn and towards the jungle. He quickly made a basic starter home, resisting the urge to detail every single part of it, making do with simple spruce walls. He designed a fairly simple doorway, circular in shape and making it look like a hobbit hole in design.

Why couldn't he turn it into a hobbit hole?

Grian laughed, digging a staircase down as he started a mine, after a while reaching a zombie spawner. He'd noticed earlier that Scar had set up a base fairly near to his, in the same direction as the spawner, and he grinned, a plan forming in his mind. He dug up to the surface, smiling when he saw that there was a perfect hiding place only a hundred blocks or so away. He silently flew over there, digging down and connecting the tunnels. He grabbed a bucket of water from the nearby lake, using it to push the zombies towards the bubble elevator, breaking the torches so the mobs could spawn.

He dug up, sniggering as he flew silently above Scar, chugging an invisibility potion as he watched the zombies slowly trickle in, holding back laughs as Scar pushed away the bushes and peered over the water elevator, drinking some milk as he doubled over with laughter. Scar rolled his eyes as Grian sniggered, sneaking back to his rudimentary base and locking the door.

He fidgeted with his hands, closing his eyes shakily and cupping them, feeling a flickering warmth appear, confirmed when he opened his eyes, seeing a shaky purple flame. After a few seconds, Grian lost focus slightly, feeling it flicker away, frustrated that he couldn't hold it for longer.

Taking a deep breath, Grian crafted a bed and placed it in the centre of the room, ignoring how early it was as he clambered into bed, eventually falling into an uneasy sleep, as Grian mentally prepared for the new season, plans circling in his brain for what was to come.
