Grian was very stupid sometimes. And those times often turned out to be the worst times to mess up, and that was roughly how he'd ended up in the situation he was in. It wasn't a great situation. Netty and Xisuma thankfully hadn't followed him instinctively, and so hadn't been caught.

In his defence, he hadn't sensed anyone there but Pearl, and he was right. Nobody else was there, but they had clearly been expecting him. They'd trapped the room.

Refusing to shout, or do anything to let the watchers get the satisfaction of knowing he'd been stupid enough to fall for it, he glanced around the room until he noticed Pearl, curled up in the corner. She was unconscious but seemed to be mostly unharmed, bar a few scratches and bruises that were a few days old.

Writhing in his bonds, he managed to wriggle a hand out, his mind flashing back to something he'd read years ago on escaping bonds. He gritted his teeth when the rope scraped against his skin slightly, but eventually, it released and he fell to the floor. It wasn't magic, so the watchers probably hadn't expected him to do that. Or they did and he was playing right into their hands, but he didn't want to think about that.

He walked over to the figure curled up on the floor, relieved that she seemed at least alright and breathing. He shook her a bit, trying to wake her up. "Pearl? Can you hear me?" He mumbled, hoping that she'll wake up. "Hey- Pearl?" No response. "...Pearl?"

Slightly panicking, he checked to see if there was a pulse. Don't tell me she's- He calmed down when he sensed a pulse. She was probably just in deep sleep or unconscious. That didn't matter though, what was important at the moment is that he needed to get out of there safely with her. The next moment, he heard knocking on the door.

"Grian? Is everything alright in there-?" he heard Xisuma say from the other side.

"Yeah! Pearl's safe!" He replied, before carefully picking Pearl up and heading for the door. He tried opening it, but the door was locked. Well, he was expecting that. The watchers weren't that dumb.

"Huh? the door's locked...?" He heard Netty say.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure this was a trap," Grian admitted reluctantly. "But that doesn't matter- we just need to find a way to open it, by force or not. The faster the better, before they arrive, because I can sense them coming to get us." Outside, Xisuma nodded.

"Right, I can maybe get it to open, stay where you are," He said briefly, touching the door. "Oh- Grian, maybe you should back up a bit." Grian complied, taking a few steps back. His heart was beating, he could sense the watchers coming closer, there wasn't much time left. Suddenly, the door cracked open as if it was glass, breaking down into tiny, fragile shards. None of the three were harmed from the impact, and Grian walked out of the room as soon as he could.

"Right, the hostage has been secured- now, let's skedaddle out of here before we get caught!" The other two nodded, and Xisuma quickly got out his communicator, opening a portal back to Hermitcraft. Grian quickly placed down a block of TNT, glancing at Xisuma and Netty.

"Netty, take Pearl and both go through. I'll be through in a minute," he instructed, a small smile creeping onto his face. "I just have to do one more thing before I go."

"1 minute," Netty warned, grabbing Pearl from Grian's hands, ducking through the portal quickly. Xisuma was a bit more hesitant, waiting for Grian to give confirmation before he went through. Pulling out a flint and steel, he sensed watchers coming nearer, only a hallway or so away. Heart thundering, he lit the TNT and let the blast send him flying into the portal, destroying it as he went through.

Coughing slightly as he landed at the Hermitcraft spawn, he glanced around and noticed Xisuma and Netty had both made it back relatively safely. Pearl wasn't in great condition, but pretty good considering where she'd been. He stumbled towards the others, brushing off remaining debris from the explosion and tilting his head towards Pearl.

"Can you tell why she's unconscious?" Grian asked Xisuma nervously. "You mentioned having trained in healing and stuff?"

"A bit of basic first aid, but really Scar's the one you want to go to for stuff like this," Xisuma responded, checking the chat which was understandably confused when Netty and Pearl joined.

Xisumavoid: It's complicated and I'll explain later. Scar, do you mind if I bring one of them around to your base to treat?
GoodTimesWithScar: Sure ig?
Docm77: Why are they here?
MumboJumbo: arent they the people from evo?
ImpulseSV left the game
Grian: It's complcited, explain later
Grian: pearls probably gonna stay until shes woken up
Iskall85: Tf is happening?
XIsumavoid: Is anyone near spawn by any chance?
NettyPlays: This is awkward
GoodTimesWithScar: Did Impulse just leave???

Grian glanced at Xisuma, internally boxing away that thought of Impulse leaving for later, something else taking priority.

"Syra just sent me something," Grian told Xisuma and Netty, his eyes fixated on the message.

"What is it Grian?" Xisuma asked, indicating for him to elaborate, only to have silence for a few seconds while Grian gathered his thoughts..

"They sent me the IP Address to the original Evo."

Ignore the 4 month gap. I started like 4 new books, that's my excuse lol. And if you don't remember any of what happened, fair enough, nor did I. I had to reread a fair bit to write this and it's still got plot holes

And I realise my original plan was bad. So I retcon. And I'm thinking about how this story could end at the end of Season 7 (because its not over yet), and the possibilities...

Anyways, thank you @rachelgreenery for the absolute ton of help the legend. My canonical mother as well. Seeya when motivation writes chapter 15!
