The bright spotlight bathed Brett Carter in a bright glow as he stood before the microphone on stage. His fair hair reached an unruly and deliberate unkempt wave to the nape of his neck. He was tall, yet lean, and his presence took up the stage. He wore a black v neck vest top that showed off his lean muscular tattooed arms, and chest whilst he held and played his guitar. His bottom were clad in tight black jeans that left little to the imagination as he stood his legs akimbo, singing into the mic with a strong soulful voice totally focusing on his performance, Despite her personal dislike of his arrogant ass, Ellie found herself reluctantly caught up and drawn into the vibrant energy of the music, and the band's performance that had the crowd going crazy.
It was taking her all her effort to remain standing at the bar counter at a distance, when she wanted to be in there amongst the crowd. But she would not give Brett the pleasure, and she knew he would never let her live it down if he saw her enjoying their performance, so she distracted herself by focusing on putting her bracelet back on her wrist, making share the clasp was fixed tightly
They were half way through their second number, by the time Ellie finished her drink, and she was on the verge of calling it a night, when a fight between two guys near the bar counter broke out, quite near where she was standing
It all escalated very quickly, both of them being on the drunk side, so when one of them became incensed that the other had bumped into him, making him spill most of his drink over himself. It soon turned from shouting verbal insults, to a physical scuffled and fists flying, and suddenly it brought all the attention of those in the hall to what was going on between them.
Ellie found herself having to hastily stepped aside just to avoid getting caught up in whatever was happening, but now the lights had gone up in the room, so the bouncers could locate the trouble makers and remove them.
Kikz and Brett went on performing their song through the tussle, but as they song came to an end and the lights remained on, Brett now with idle curiosity looked in the direction where all the action was happening, before they went into their next number. He could see the trouble makers were being hauled out of the hall by the bouncers, and it was then he spotted the familiar red leather jacket he knew Ellie wore, which immediately caught his attention, and the trouble makers were forgotten about.
Ellie found herself inwardly swearing as she realised with some dismay he had noticed her. Even from a distance she could feel those hazel eyes penetrating into her soul, and then watched as he smirked in realisation that she had been there in the background, listening to them play. She was glad at that moment lights had gone down again, and she was now intent on beating a hasty retreat herself. now that the the bouncers had disappeared out the door. She was slightly hindered by the crowds that had gathered to witness the fight as she tried to make her escape, so she was only half way across the room when Brett spoke up into the mic
"Well folks, now that little disruption is over, we can get back to the music, and speaking of which, I see we are graced with the presence of another familiar face to the club here tonight" he then drawled, looking like he was thoroughly enjoying himself
Ellie found herself now frozen to the spot, realising he was more than likely referring to her, so she tried to keep herself hidden in the crowd around her, hoping he wouldn't see her.
"Ellie Kavanagh, I know you are out there somewhere, no need to be shy when you are amongst friends!" he then called out jovially, as he peered through the dimness of the crowded hall and then much to her horror she realised he was motioning with his hand for the lights to be brightened in the hall again
Once they came back on unfortunately, despite her small stature, she stuck out like a sore thumb in her red leather jacket, so he had no problem spotting her again, "Ah, There she is!" he exclaimed happily pointed towards her
