Waking up Thursday morning to the sound of my alarm going up made me groan and turn it off on my phone. Looking at the time I read that it was 11:00 am.

Altering me that I had to be at work by 12:30. Climbing out of my bed I turned off my LED lights, staring at my floor. After a couple of minutes, I finally worked the courage to get up and turn on my shower water.

Brushing my teeth and washing my face, I looked into the mirror disgusted at the person staring back at me. As I stood in the shower, letting the water run down my skin. I looked at the prominent scars on my arms that I had carved into them the night before. The stinging stopped years ago, it didn't bother me anymore.

After about 15 minutes in the shower, I began to get dressed. Putting on some baggy blue jeans, a white cami covering it with a green henley shirt. I walked downstairs making a cup of coffee.

My mother must have left for work already, I thought, taking a sip of my coffee. Walking back into my room, I looked at my bed seeing it wasn't made up. Ignoring it, I added some vaseline to my lips and popped a piece of gum into my mouth.

Grabbing my small backpack, I grabbed my keys as well after lacing up my high-top black converse. Making my way to the front door I heard it open before I made my way down the stairs. I froze in place realizing my father had just gotten home from work.

After hearing the back door shut, I quickly made my way out of the house into my car. Immetaidly locking the door, setting my things into the passenger seat I began my drive to work. 'i was all over her' playing from the speakers of my car. As I sat at the red light I sighed my phone buzzing back to back. Picking it up I saw the name of my group chat.

I opened it to see what they were talking about, saying good morning before pulling off from the light.

The book store I worked out wasn't that close to my home or school which I was thankful for. When I pulled into the parking lot of the book store I grabbed my stuff walking inside to the back room. Seeing the new box of books that were ordered Tuesday.

Putting my things onto the cupboard with my name on it, I put my name tag on, fixing my hair into a ponytail leaving two of my twist out in the front.

Grabbing the box cutter I opened the box and began to get to work.

It was now 2:00 and I was on my lunch break, I sat in my car reading what my group chat was talking about. Mostly some of the tik toks they had sent earlier.

My playlist played softly on the speakers of my car, while I rubbed my eye.

Looking at the messages I saw Cailyn say to Narri she had to tell her something, as well as Semira. The three eventually stopped texting.

One thing I never understood was why our friendships were this way. All my friends have their person, Cailyn has Narri, who has Semira. They have their own circle, Kavion has his friends from basketball and all the other girls that love his presence.
