"I've met her like twice, and yea she is a little mean, but I think that's just her personality 'Cura." Aries told me.
"She said we wouldn't l-last, what if she's r-rig-" I started and he cut me off.
"I don't want to hear it. I've never seen a brighter smile on your face than with your with Xaria, and she never liked someone as she likes you. I promise you she's not right." He assured me.
Aries and I were on the phone as I got ready for my date with Xaria. The last time I saw her was when I met her friends; it wasn't the best experience.
We'd texted and called throughout the past week and a half but we've both been too busy to hang out, so tonight we're going to the drive-in to see a movie. I was excited but nervous because I had never told her what Aidah–her best friend had said about me.
I was planning to tell her tonight, but I didn't want to ruin our date.
"Are you sure?" I asked lowly.
"Acura Saint, if you ask me one more time I might kill myself. And yes, I'm sure! Now, what time is she getting there?"
I checked the time on my phone, "A couple of minutes, I'm just about ready, I think."
I looked at myself in my mirror, my hair in a ponytail, long sleeve shirt, black spandex shorts, fuzzy socks, and my lightening McQueen crocs–Xaria and I had bought matching pairs but had yet to wear them yet.
I went with minimal makeup, for a natural look. I applied some chapstick to my lips and rubbed them together.
"Hey, Aries," I called.
"Yea?"
"How c-come you haven't been on a date in a while?" I wondered.
"There's really no one I like. I'm not even sure I liked Savannah that much. And I trusted her, and it ended badly. So," He trailed off.
"I'm gonna help f-find you a girlfriend." I smiled.
"Xaria's already been trying, Brett too, there's no one out there for me."
"Yes, there is, you just haven't met her y-yet." I told him.
My phone pinged and I grabbed it off my bed.
Messages. Now.

And then it pinged again.
Messages. Now.
xari 💗
i miss you, hurry up
"Ok Aries, I'll t-talk to you later."
"Mhm, enjoy your date, Acura." I heard the smile in his voice and we said our goodbyes before I hung up.
I shoved my phone into my tote bag, grabbed my blanket, and looked at myself in the mirror one last time before rushing downstairs and out the door.
I saw her truck and smiled wide, filling warmth filling my cheeks as I practically skipped to the car and got inside. I placed my stuff into the backseat.
"I've missed you so much, come here." Xaria pulled me into a hug, ignoring the middle console like there was nothing separating us at all.
She attacked my face with kisses making me giggle, "I missed you too." I paused her assault and brought my lips up to hers.
I missed the feel of her lips on mine and practically melted in her touch. Her lips tasted like coffee, and it felt like we hadn't lost any time.
I pulled away, and she shook her head. "Wait one more, please." She pouted and I grinned.
