I had nostalgia from the last time I walked into Edgewood after break. Just like summer break, a lot happened over winter too.

There were a lot of new changes.

There was no more of my friend group with Raine, Narri, Cailyn, or Narri and me. This time I wasn't worried about seeing Adonis again. I was talking to a girl in the romantic sense.

And so much more.

Stargirl Interlude by the Weeknd played in my ears. For Christmas, my mom got me black sony noise-canceling headphones.

I had noise cancelation on because of how low it was walking into school, my hair was now braided, a braid on each side of my face out while the rest was in a ponytail.

My sweater was blue, brown, and red with stripes, that accented my blue, yellow, navy blue, and white shoes. My jeans were a fair shade of grey.

I didn't go the usual way, I went down the hall and turned towards where Kavion and his friends hung out in the mornings.

I missed all of them, and it was so surreal because I wish I had spent more time with them before this year. We have one semester left and then we're all parting our own ways.

They didn't notice me approach them until I sat down on one of the benches next to Miles.

"Oh shit, wassup Acura. How was your break?" He asked and I paused my music, moving my headphones so that they were around my neck.

"H-hey, it was good how was yours?"

"Nothing special happened." He shrugged.

"Acura's here?" I heard Kavion's voice and soon all of them were crowded where Miles and I sat.

"Hey g-guys," I smiled nervously.

"Yo update us though, Kavion told us about you, and what's her name?" Dylan asked.

"I think Evan might now." Tony nudged his arm and Evan rolled his eyes flipping him off.

"Shut up, she didn't even look gay."

"And neither does Acura, what's the point?" Kavion added.

"But that's different because she's bisexual." Evan said.

"Her name is X-Xaria," I told them in the midst of their bickering.

"So are yall dating or what?" Royce joined in the conversation putting his phone in his pocket.

"Of course, you wanna know." Dylan eyed him.

I ignored Dylan and shrugged, "We're just," I searched for the word. "Chilling? I-I guess."

"Mm," Kavion hummed and smiled in my direction making my face heat up just thinking about her.

"Nah cause her ass blushing," Miles said making all of them laugh.

The first bell rang for class.

"S-shut up." I rolled my eyes, standing up and dusting my pants off from the leaves falling from the tree.

We all parted our ways walking to class. Since English was my first class I walked down the hall with Kavion since his class was across from mine.

"You talked to Narri and them?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I've talked to Raine a couple of times but not the rest of them," I told him. "I have a class with her later."

"Don't you have classes with one of them now?"

"Yea."

"Mm, alright. I'll catch you probably at lunch." He gave me a quick hug before I could deny anything and slipped into his classroom leaving me standing in the middle of the hallway.
