Acura Saint has always felt like she was damaged, through all the things she's been through and all the trauma she tries to keep locked away. Falling in love is the last thing she wants to think about.
She can't love another when she can't stand to...
"So wassup with you and Adonis?" Kavion asked me as we walked to English together, the question making me furrow my eyebrows.
"What do y-you mean? W-we're just friends." I lied and he gave me a look, a 'you've got to be lying' look.
"Cmon Acura, it's like that? I saw you guys after school walking to your car holding hands yesterday." My voice got caught in my throat before I could deny anything.
"L-look," I started but he shook his head.
"If you want to be with dude, I don't care. I just don't want to see you hurt again." He told me as we walked across the bridge.
Letting out a breath I began talking, "Well now you know," It was still three minutes until the bell rang and only 4 or 5 people were left in the hallways.
I pulled him to the side by the lockers and turned around whispering, "Do you know anything about him selling drugs?" I cringed at the word.
Staring up at Kavion my eyes flickered around his face to look for any signs of an answer. But one thing about Kavion is, he's a terrible liar.
"I mean, yea." He spoke back quietly. "Some of my friends buy from him, and shit. Me too one time. I kinda thought you knew." He explained and I shook my head.
"I don't know what to do, like what if he gets caught or something, I–" Someone walked past us and I went quiet before opening my mouth again. "It's a really messed up situation." "If you would have known from the beginning would you still be with him," He wondered and it took me a second to make up my mind but I nodded.
"If I knew the reasoning behind all of it, but I would still try to get him to do anything else but that."
"Well then you need to talk to him," He said as we began walking to class.
As we got into our seats the bell rang and the teacher had begun talking, I just stared down at my notebook.

Sitting at a lunch table with my friends, it seemed like the day had gone by so slowly. I was counting down the minutes until after school so I could talk to Adonis. Now was after school.
After the movie, we both went home and I hadn't talked to him at all since then. I was avoiding him.
All my classes felt dragged out, even lunch which never is. And today was also an even day so I didn't have any classes with him. Which I was thankful for.
"You okay, Acura?" Caylin asked me making me look up at her.
All my friends were standing up looking as if they were about to leave.
"Yea," I nodded.
"Well we're about to go home, you staying after school or something?" Narri asked me and I nodded.
"I have to go talk to my teacher about this project but I'll talk to you guys when I get home," I told them and they waved goodbye walking to the parking lot.
