It was Thursday night, and Xaria asked me to come over to help her study. Some days she actually did need help and we did study, and other times well, there was more hands-on studying involved.
But it was one of the only ways my mom let me come over to her house during the week, and her mom didn't want Xaria anywhere besides home on a school night.
Therefore, study nights.
We'd been up to this for about two weeks following our movie night date. I'd go home from school, do my homework, shower, change into more comfy clothes, grab my backpack and some books then head over to Xaria's.
Like now, I got out of my car, grabbed my backpack, opened the gate, and let myself to the door.
Before raising my hand to the door, I rubbed my lips together and made sure I looked presentable.
Curly hair in a high ponytail, one lock of hair hanging in the front, beige long-sleeve with a blue star in the middle, blue shorts, and beige crocs.
After making sure I looked okay, I knocked three times. "Mom! I got it." I heard Xaria yell making me smile.
"Girl! Go sit back down." Her mother told her, and Brett's laughter followed.
Shortly after, the door was unlocked and opened showcasing Xaria's mom. "H-Hi, Ms. Koffi."
"Hey sweetie, come on in." She stepped aside, opening the door wider for me to enter.
"Mom, we're gonna go to my room so she can help me study for my Bio test," Xaria told her, coming into view from the hallway.
"Aht!" Ms. Koffi shooed her daughter away, making her groan and lean against the door frame. "How are you doing today, Acura?"
"I'm good, how about y-you?" I replied, trying to ignore Xaria behind her mom, smiling at me.
"Other than this one, terrorizing me every three minutes, I'd say pretty good too." She rolled her eyes. "You girls will just be studying correct?" She squinted at me, and I felt my cheeks warm.
"Yesss mom, let us go, please. I actually need help, I have a Biology test tomorrow." Xaria bugged her.
"Fine," Right when the words left her mouth Xaria grabbed my hand pulling me quickly behind her, to her room upstairs.
"Hey 'Cura!" Brett yelled and I waved, trying to keep up.
When we got into her room, she cracked the door behind us, and I dropped my bag on the floor.
"Hello to you too–" I was cut off when her lips touched mine.
Oh.
Her hands were placed on my waist, pulling me in closer to her, and I loved when she kissed me like this.
It was her, 'I missed you" kiss.
I brought my arms around her neck, kissing her back, when she backed me against the door slowly, it eventually closing behind me when she pressed me against it.
"I heard a door close! Xaria Carter!" Ms. Koffi yelled from downstairs and we broke apart. She rested her face on my neck and sighed, causing me to laugh.
"Sorry, mom!" But she didn't move, she remained in the same spot, breathing me in, hands still on my waist, and she circled her arms around me, embracing me.
"Hey, are you o-okay?" I whispered, rubbing her back.
"Just missed you." She mumbled, placing a kiss on my cheek and letting me go.
I turned around and cracked the door back to how it was, Xaria lay down on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
"I missed you too," I told her, a grin on my face while seeing how flustered she was, avoiding contact with me.
