"Hey, Taeyong, Can we talk?"
.
.
."Taeyong?"
Jaehyun eyes widened when he realized he, yet again, called on first-name basis. It has not even been a month since they've met – actually, been weeks – and there goes Jaehyun casually having Taeyong's name roll off like that, as if they regularly pass by. The gosh, Jaehyun, stop spacing out! He shook his head and cleared his throat.
"Mr. Lee."
Taeyong had his arms crossed, his body pressed on the wall. His gaze staring intently over to Jaehyun's internally panicked ones. What was supposed to say again? Or rather talk about? Dammit. He should've prepared a script beforehand. If only he wasn't so caught up with mentally preparing himself not to overthink, he'd use the time to practice words in his head. Oh well.
His eyes wondered the room, only to fall on Renjun seated with Donghyuck. Then it hit him like a rock. Ah! About Renjun and last night – yes, it's all coming together.
"Err. You've been down since yesterday, Sir Lee." His hand unconsciously made its way to the back of his neck, rubbing it reluctantly. "I know it's none of my business, but I can't help but be concerned."
Taeyong raised a brow. "What is there to be concerned? I'm fine." That was an immediate response. Jaehyun nervously gulped.
"I doubt so anyway."
Taeyong shot a glimpse towards the younger.
"A-Anyways." Jaehyun tilted his head. "A frown doesn't suit your face. If you wanna talk about what's bothering you, let it out. Not to me of course, if you're not comfortable, that is."
There was a pause.
"Don't take it too hard. We still have two days before we depart. We'll next see each other five months from now."
Taeyong thought about it. Well it's true. He just wasted two days being all grumpy and gloomy he didn't think of having little chats with the children's pediatrician, Jaehyun. They did get along pretty well prior to this check up, had some laughing moments there. Heck, Jaehyun even offered Taeyong a drive home. Maybe he'll make it up for the upcoming two days.
"Five months from now? I'm sure check ups should be done yearly." Ignoring the "Don't be too hard" part, Taeyong decided to push aside that talk about himself and diverted it instead to the kids.
Jaehyun blinked and sighed. "You see, this center is a newly established place, so some materials needed for checking are quite limited, mainly for screening and some parts of the rooms are yet to be done. I've only done the main parts of checking the kids. I've decided to divide each check up process by months, so by then the requirements needed are complete. And I'll be busy these following months so." Jaehyun smiled. "The kids are healthy. Head to toe. Healthy, so I want them them to maintain it."
Jaehyun made his way around the table and brought out a paper. "I'll write you up with vitamins to take every after meal, three times a day." He glanced up. "There is a nearby pharmacy 10 minutes away if you'd like."
"Very much appreciated." Taeyong nodded.
Jaehyun paused writing for a moment just to sneak a glance towards the male once more. Taeyong seemed to notice and raise a brow, catching Jaehyun off guard.
He quickly finished of the paper and hurridly lend it to Taeyong. Taeyong skimmed but stopped when he spotted an unsual perscription, he shot Jaehyun a questionable look.
"What's a warm milk going to do with the children's medicine?" Taeyong wavered the thin sheet as he spoke, he's expecting a valid reason why it is. Is this pediatrician not doing his job properly? But the paper did have reasonable medicine written anyway, why add milk?
