It was a safe ride home and Taeyong couldn't be more grateful as he is now. He honestly expected to be infuriated by now, but no. There's no hair falling out, no damaging of voices, none. It was a very calming and awkward way back. Maybe Seo-min was right about these children being angels, they're really behaved, as he expected.
As he parked the car. Jisung was sound asleep on the front passenger seat, the belt supporting his now draping head. Taeyong smiled and got out of the car first, with Renjun, Chenle, YangYang, Jaemin, Jeno and Donghyuck heading out after. The group of six trailed their way to the entrance, going up the staircase leading to the door and waited patiently for Taeyong.
Taeyong closed the door and advanced around the car to retrieve the sleeping Jisung. He opened the door which startled the youngest awake. "Oh no, sorry baby." He spoke softly as he gently unbuckled his seatbelt and carried him. He locked the car doors and went to the house, opening the entrance soon after.
As the door opened, the eight started flooding the inside. Donghyuck was about to step inside but was stopped with Taeyong clearing his throat. "Shoes at the side."
Donghyuck nodded and took off his shoes, setting them on the side. The remaining five saw this and mimicked what Donghyuck did. In a neat, horizontal line consists of pairs of shoes that had a variety of colors and brands. Taeyong felt this warm feeling swell over him as the sides never felt so.. Full. When the six were only left on their socks, they all looked at Taeyong simultaneously for approval in which Taeyong nodded.
Footfalls and giggles resonated the once empty house as the reflection of the boys shown. He stared for a brief moment. For some reason, he liked the sounds of it.
He shook his head and started removing Jisung's shoes for him and gently placed it down next to Renjun's.
He removed his as well and stepped inside.
The atmosphere felt more lively than ever. He was already contented with how the house looked, but now it was better. Jaemin and Donghyuck, hand in hand strode over to the glass door. "That's a huge backyard!" Jaemin gasped, bouncing excitedly. "Mr. Can we? Can we?" Donghyuck diverted his attention over to the adult.
"Sure."
Taeyong opened the sliding door which both the boys squealed and started running around the grassy area with only in their socks. Taeyong can just wash the dirt off later.
Yangyang ran after the two. The trio played under the sun's warmth. Jeno, Chenle and Renjun merely sat on the couch, exchanging words with each other. Jisung was still asleep.
Taeyong had to wake Jisung as lunch was approaching soon, and he had to feed these kiddos. He didn't want to spoil the fun but he didn't want them to starve either.
Setting down the sleepy boy on the couch where Jeno, Chenle, Renjun sat. Jisung awoke as soon as he was no longer in the arms of Taeyong. His droopy eyes fixated onto Taeyong's soft features. "Where are you going?" He rubbed his eyes.
Taeyong gently pushed his hand away from his eye and cleared his throat. "I'll just make lunch. I'll be back, okay?"
Jisung, with his eyes now closed merely nodded and leaned onto Renjun's shoulder which the chinese boy didn't mind one bit. Taeyong smiled at the sight and sauntered to the kitchen.
He decided to make some chicken nuggets for lunch.
As the elder got the ingredients ready - YangYang, Jaemin and Donghyuck sprinted around the backyard, laughter filled the air and grass getting crushed beneath their clothed feet. Jaemin came to an abrupt stop which had Donghyuck bumping into him. "Yah! Why did you stop?" The boy grumbled and took a step back. "That's a pretty garden!" Jaemin jogged over to the newly planted area just at the sides.
