A sigh escaped Minsoo's lips as she faced Taeyong. "I'm so sorry about Chittaphon." She thought the day would go on pretty smoothly and Taeyong would like the kids immediately at first glance. But one of the kids had to ruin it.
Taeyong's smile faded into a frown and turned to Minsoo. "That's alright. He's still young."
Taeyong hated being disrespected. But for the sake of these kids, he needed to compose himself and just smile.
He eventually led the other nine inside. Minsoo and Taeyong were left outside.
"Thank you for all this, Taeyong." Minsoo patted his shoulder. "You'll be alright handling nineteen alone, right?"
Sure, a twenty four year old man who has absolutely no parental background or has ever handled a child whatsoever can take care of nineteen children right? And he'll totally not stress and loose hair over it right?
He can handle it.
"Oh.. Yeah." Doubt laced in his tone. He wasn't very sure about it. Taeyong failed to notice the frown that tinted Minsoo's lips.
"Are you sure though?"
"No problem." Taeyong reassured her. It will probably take him a long time to adjust to this, but process takes time, so does his flexibility in handling nineteen children.
Minsoo nodded. "And oh, don't worry about the children's finances. We'll take care of them."
Taeyong sighed of relief.
They eventually bid their goodbyes and parted ways. Taeyong head inside.
When he did he saw how long the line of shoes occupied either sides of the entrance area. Barely his shoes could squeeze in. When he got inside. His living room looked as if it's a daycare for kids. Taeyong doubts he could memorize all their faces and names at once. So far - Jisung, Chenle, Renjun, YangYang, Donghyuck and Jaemin are the ones Taeyong had got down already.
He stopped mid-way when a boy approached Taeyong.
"Hey, so sorry about Chittaphon's attitude awhile ago.." The boy spoke, the embarrassment evident on his face. Taeyong arched a brow and smiled. "That's fine. We can't control sudden emotions anyway." Taeyong responded while the boy faced him.
"Alright.." The boy paused for a moments before continuing.
"I'm Doyoung.. By the way." The said boy outstretched his hand for the older to shake. Taeyong was a bit surprised at his action but didn't hesitate to return the favor. If one were to look closely, this Doyoung boy reminded him of a bunny. Considering how his eyes are similar to a bunny and how his cute teeth resembles one as well. It was cute.
"You're polite at your age." First time meeting him and he could immediately tell that this boy isn't one of those naughty, disrespectful ten year olds. Taeyong admired that trait of his which is rare to find in other boys nowadays. Doyoung grew shy and faced the floor where his feet stood. "Ahh, thank you.."
Taeyong nodded.
"Anytime bub. Oh and, the rest of your belongings are on the couch there." Taeyong pointed where their bags were placed, Doyoung's gaze followed the direction of his pointing finger. "Get what's yours and I'll guide you there, okay? Maybe you can tell the others?"
Doyoung merely nodded and went on his way to grab his bag. He called the other nine over and handed them each their respective belongings.
Taeyong smiled at the sight.
One by one, they head upstairs and Taeyong followed them. He sped up his pace to be at the front and led them to his room.
When they entered, the nine kids immediately dispersed to the laid out bed mattresses. They were free to choose any of them as the like. Five can at least fit on the floor bed since it's pretty wide.
