Lexie's POV-

By the time I got home it was still quite early as the clock on my bedroom table hit 8:45am. I decided that I was going to work everything out. I was going to make a list of potential suspects and when they had the opportunity to hurt Rebecca. I thought that if I did this then there was no way she could deny who it was.

So, the first thing I did was sit at my desk and make a list. The biggest bit of information she gave me was that I knew them, so it had to be someone we both knew, which was helpful because Rebecca still barely knew anyone here. So I started listing names, not missing anyone out no matter how unlikely it was:
Me
Mike
Hannah
Noah
Sam
My mom (Debbie)
My dad (Dave)
Head teacher
School Nurse
Mr Richards (Science)
Mrs Watson (Maths)
Mrs Brady (English)
Auntie Caroline
Her Dad (Mr Wilson)

But, Rebecca also said that it was someone from school. Leaving me with:
Me
Mike
Hannah
Noah
Sam
Head teacher
School Nurse
Mr Richards (Science)
Mrs Watson (Maths)
Mrs Brady (English)

But when did anyone have an opportunity at school? I was with her in all of her classes and then we would always sit together at lunch and break. The only time I could think of is detentions, but she's the only student in there with the headteacher. Meaning my only suspect left is:
The headteacher

But, that's impossible. The school has cameras, there's no way he would be that stupid. But if it wasn't him then I have to be missing something, but what is it? Think Lexie, think!

God, this is going to take forever to work out.

Rebecca's POV-

When I reached my room I crawled onto my bed and curled up into a ball to try and ease the pain cursing through my stomach. I was so exhausted even though it had only just turned 9:30 in the morning, but my eyes felt so heavy and before I knew it I was swept away by sleep itself.

Not realising how tired I truly was I didn't end up waking up for hours until I was jolted awake by a knock on my bedroom door. The first thing I did was clutch at my stomach as I felt a shooting pain radiate through it. But that's when I heard my dad open the door.

I looked over at him as he took a step into my room. Straight away I moved backwards up to the top of my bed in order to get further away from him.

"Munchkin, I've just come to let you know that it's nearly 6pm, so dinner will be ready in a minute." He said softly.

I didn't know how to react around him anymore, he was just so unpredictable.

"I...I'm not hungry." I stuttered out hoping he would just leave. It was obviously a lie though, I hadn't eaten all day, but I wasn't exactly going to admit that to him.

"Well I've made a chicken pasta bake, so you may as-well come down and eat some." He said no really giving me any other option.

"Okay. I'll be down in a minute." I said giving into the fact that I no longer had a say. I was just hoping that this good mood he was in would hopefully last for the rest of the day.

"Good." He replied offering me a small smile before leaving my room.

I carefully got off of my bed and headed to my mirror to see if I looked as bad as I felt. Thankfully he had left my face untouched earlier and the bruise he had left from last time was now looking a lot better. But the thing I was most worried about was my stomach, as I slowly lifted up the bottom of my hoodie it was already completely evident that it was a lot worst. The new bruises were already starting to appear and when I pressed down slightly on the left side of my stomach it felt like one or maybe even two of my ribs were broken as they felt out of place. It hurt like hell to touch and every breathe I took was a painful reminder.
