Lexie's POV-
When I woke up the next morning I found my arms wrapped around Rebecca as her head rested on my chest with her right arm draped over my stomach. She looked so beautiful in this moment that it broke my heart to think about the bruise I saw across on her stomach last night.
I hated Sam for what she did to my beautiful Rebecca and I also hated how Rebecca stood up for her. I don't get why she didn't want to do something about it either. I don't care if Sam's the captain of the basketball team or the fact that she's taller and stronger than me, I'd go kick her ass right now if I could. But Rebecca made me promise not to do anything, so I couldn't.
But that doesn't mean I can't ask someone else to do something about it for me. Plus, I'm not the only one who cares about Rebecca, so when I tell them what happened I bet they'll want answers just as much as I do.
With that I grabbed my phone off of my bed side table and sent a text to Mike, Hannah and Noah on our group chat explaining what happened. As it was only 10am on a Saturday morning I really didn't expect anyone to be awake yet, so I put my phone back down on my bed side table and went back to sleep.
Rebecca's POV-
As I woke up the next morning I found myself cuddled up to Lexie with my head rested on her chest. God she was so comfy.
After a few minutes of not wanting to move I finally lifted my head up to look at the small clock on her bed side table. I was shocked at how late it was, it was already 10:30am.
That was when the realisation hit me. I didn't have a nightmare last night. It was officially the first time in over 4 months that I hadn't dreamed about my mom dying in the hospital.
With that I looked down at the beautiful blonde next to me and just smiled. God she was so pretty and peaceful as she slept. I really wish I didn't have to hide the truth from her, but she deserves someone who isn't broken. So I can't let her see that side of my life.
As if she could sense my gaze she started to slowly open her eyes.
"Morning, beautiful." I said with a massive grin on my face because of how cute she looked waking up.
"Morning." She replied as she blushed.
"Sooo, what do you want to do today?" I asked as she sat up.
"Well my parents are at work, so why don't we go on a cute little breakfast date?" She asked with a smile.
"That sounds perfect." I said as I slowly started to sit up.
Lexie was actually the sweetest. Which only made me feel worst for not telling her the truth.
But with that me both got out of bed and got changed ready for the day. I thought it was pretty funny how Lexie called it a breakfast date when it was already 11am by the time we left her house.
Before I knew it though we were at Caroline's Café. I was starting to really like this place. It was always so quiet and yet so full of life at the same time. OMG and that coffee smell as I walked in was the best thing ever.
"I'm assuming by the big smile on your face that you like it here." Lexie said as she pulled out a chair for me to sit down.
"Thank you and no, I don't like it here... I love it here." I said taking a seat.
"I'm glad." She said with a smile as she walked around the table taking a seat across from me.
"My favourite niece!" Caroline squealed as she made her way over to the table with opened arms pulling Lexie in for a hug.
