Rebecca's POV-
Dinner was going so well and before I knew it we were both nearly finished. I wasn't as on edge anymore which made me happy. I knew it wasn't going to last forever, so I made sure to enjoy it whilst it lasted.
Just as we were about to collect up the plates my phone rang causing me to jump slightly at the unexpectedness. I quickly pulled it out of my pocket to see that Lexie was calling me, but not wanting to ruin the peaceful moment I quickly hung up and put my phone down on the table.
My dad eyed me curiously but didn't say anything.
"It's just Lexie, I'll call her back later." I said to him answering his silent question.
But before he had a chance to actually say anything my phone rang again, except this time my dad grabbed it to answer it before I could.
"This is Rebecca's dad. Can I help you with something?" He said bluntly into the phone as I just looked at him trying to workout what was going on.
"Well, she's busy at the moment." He said seeming to reply to a question about me.
"Well she's fine. There's no need for you to concern yourself, so if you don't mind, I have to go." He stated quickly before hanging up.
"What did Lexie want?" I asked him, but he just stood there staring at my phone.
"What the hell is this?" He asked angrily causing me to stare at him with confusion. That was until he showed me what he was looking at.
I stood there shocked. How could I have been so stupid? I thought.
"It... it's nothing." I stuttered trying to convince him.
"She's kissing you for god sakes!" He shouted looking at my lock screen in disgust.
"It was just a kiss on the check." I said hoping he would pass it off as harmless.
"First you start hanging out with some gay boy and now you're letting girls kiss you! What next Becca?" He shouted as he stepped closer towards me. "You gonna tell me you're gay?" He asked with so much arrogance in his tone that I snapped.
"Maybe I will." I replied back at him with some new found confidence that I didn't know I had. This confidence however was short lived as the expression on his face had me regretting what I had just said.
Before I could even think about making a run for it I saw him raise his fist and before I knew it I was on the floor. Tears started to blur my vision as pain radiated across the left side of my face.
As I tried to quickly work out what was happening I felt him grab the front of my hoodie in his first as he forced me to look as at him.
"What the hell did you just say?" He shouted pulling my face closer to his. But before I could respond he continued.
"No way in hell is any child of mine going to be gay!" He shouted as he brought another punch down to my face. Causing me to scream in agony as pain seared through my nose and mouth. I looked up at him through tear filled eyes a I begged for him to stop.
As I tried to recover I felt a warm liquid running down my mouth. Quickly trying to wipe it away, I looked at my hand to realise I was bleeding. He punched me so hard in the nose that I was bleeding.
"I'm sorry." I whimpered out.
"You disgust me!" He shouted raising his fist again.
Lexie's POV-
My mom put my phone to her ear as it started to ring, but no one answered causing me to look at her with concern.
"It's okay, I'll trying again." She said as she recalled the number. Thankfully though this time she picked up.
