Rebecca's POV-

After school finished I sat through my detention which was as slow and painful as always. The only thing that made it less painful was knowing that Lexie was waiting outside for me, so we could go get milkshakes together after it ended.

Everything was starting to work out. I liked her and she liked me. As long as I was careful and she didn't ask anymore questions I was pretty sure that I could get through this in one piece.

When the bell finally rang signalling the end of the detention I was so relieved, so with that I was up and out of the class before the headteacher could even stand up.

Straight away I headed towards the front entrance of the school where I saw Lexie sat down on the steps waiting for me.

"I have finally left the gates of hell." I said as I walked down the steps.

"Oh my god, don't be so dramatic." Lexie laughed rolling her eyes at me as she stood up.

Now in front of Lexie I turned around to face her.

"It was torture!" I exclaimed with a fake pout. Causing Lexie to laugh even more at my cute attempt at being a drama queen.

"Nothing a milkshake can't fix." She said walking up to me.

"True that." I agreed as I turned to walk with her.

Caroline's café was officially starting to become my favourite place. It was always so cozy and the second I stepped inside it was like all my worries were gone and the fact that Lexie was always with me was a perfect little bonus.

As soon as we arrive we took our seats and Caroline got us 2 strawberry milkshakes.

"So, you do has good taste." I stated.

"Well of course. I am dating you, aren't I?" She smile back sending a shiver down my spine.

I was sort of starting to just assumed that we were officially dating, but actually hearing her say it made all the difference.

"So, we're official." I asked shyly still not 100% sure how this beautiful blonde sat in front of me was actually my girlfriend.

"Yeah, I mean if you want to." Was she crazy, of course I wanted to.

"Of course I want to. You're amazing." I said sort of thinking out load, but still meaning every word of it.

This caused her to blush though, so I slowly lent forward giving her a soft kiss. As she broke the kiss she looked me dead in the eyes.

"How about you come over to mine tonight?" She smiled.

This caught me off guard slightly, I mean I'd love to don't get me wrong, but my dad is expecting me home for dinner.

"Um, but what about your parents? Don't you need to ask them first?" I asked, not really wanting to say no.

"They're working late tonight. Plus, they adore you. So they would probably love the idea just as much as me." She said with a smirk.

God, why was she so convincing? She looked so happy and I was pretty sure her smirk meant she wanted to do a bit more than talking.

How could I say no to that?

"My dads expecting me home for dinner, so I'm not sure if he'll let me." I said.

I guess I could say no just like that.

"Oh okay." She said now with a look of pure disappointment.

"But, we're going to Mikes party tomorrow, so we can hang out then." This seems to bring back a smile to her face.

Lexie's POV-

I was so excited about Rebecca maybe coming over tonight, but she said that her dad probably won't let her. Which I sort of understand, but even then it's not like she isn't 17.

Luckily though we did have Mikes party tomorrow which I was definitely looking forward to. Plus, if I couldn't spend much time with Rebecca tonight then I'll just have to get her alone at the party tomorrow.

Now, I really couldn't wait.

Rebecca's POV-

I felt terrible for saying no, but I had to prepare myself so I could ask my dad about letting me go to the part tomorrow. So I decided not to poke the bear with another request. You know what they say, 'chose you battles wisely'.

The rest of the milkshake date was lovely, I was so lucky to actually be dating Lexie. The only thing that did worry me though was that now I was expected to be more open with her and I had no idea how I was going to keep everything a secret from her.

As I got home I was met with my dad sat at the dining table with dinner ready.

"Hey Munchkin, how was your day?" He said, allowing the feeling of relief to flow over me at the confirmation that tonight was going to be a good night.

"It was good, how was your day?" I asked taking a seat next to him as I started to eat the chicken and pasta that he had made.

"Work was good, pretty quiet though." He sighed.

I could tell that he missed working at his old garage. I was just praying that he wasn't going to get himself fired from this place.

"So..." I started hesitantly. "My friends are having a party tomorrow, so I was wondering if I could go." I asked not sure how he was going to respond.

"As long as you're home before 10pm then sure. Go have fun with your new friends." He said glancing up at me with a slight smile before he went back to eating his food.

That went so much better than I was expecting. Maybe everything really was going to be okay after all. Maybe I wasn't going to have to lie to anyone anymore.
