Lexie's POV-
Around 20 minutes into Mrs Watson's Maths lesson, Rebecca finally entered the classroom. After she apologised to the teacher she walked over to the seat next to me with her head down. She had such a sad look on her face, so when she sat down in the seat next to me I turned to face her.
"Are you okay? What happened?" I asked starting to worry as she avoided looking at me.
"It's nothing. I just got into trouble for sending Mikes ex's number around." She replied as she got her book out of her bag and focused on the teacher at the front.
"How did they know it was you?" I asked slightly confused.
"I don't know, but it's fine. I just have to sit two weeks of detentions."
"Damn, I'm sorry. What about Mike? Did you tell them why you did it?" I asked wanting to know if Mike got into trouble as well.
With that she looked at me. "You think I snitched on him. Are you being serious right now?" She asked in an angry tone.
"What... no, of course not. But I just assumed they would have asked you why you did it." I stated not really sure what to say. I wasn't trying to accuse her or anything.
"Yeah, they did. Ted actually told the principal that he thought it was Mikes idea. So when when the Principle asks if that was true, I said no, I told the Principal that it was just me playing a joke on him. Did you really think that I would snitch on Mike like that?" She asked in a louder tone looking at me with an angry expression.
"No... of course not. I.. I just..." I stuttered before we were interrupted by Mrs Watson.
"Rebecca! Lexie! Is there something you wish to share with the class?" She shouted across the classroom at us.
"No, Mrs." We both said at the same time.
After that Rebecca turned away from me and we didn't talk for the rest of the less. I felt really bad, but I didn't mean to come off as rude, I just wanted to know if Mike was okay. I just don't get why she got so angry at me.
Rebecca's POV-
As the bell rang to mark the end of the day I quickly grabbed my bag and left the class before Lexie could say anything to me.
I felt bad for lashing out at her, I didn't mean to. I was just so nervous thinking about how my dad is going to react and she just kept asking questions. I can't believe I basically shouted at her, I know she wasn't accusing me of anything but I just couldn't believe that I was stupid enough to get into so much trouble.
As quickly as I left the classroom, I left the school. Sadly though there was only one school bus, so all that meant was that I got to the bus before her. As this realisation hit me I felt so stupid, so I just decided to take a seat at the back of the bus hoping she wouldn't see me.
Could today actually get any worst? I thought and as if God heard my prayers I saw Lexie get onto the bus. Straight away she saw me and started making her way to the back to seat next to me.
"I'm sorry." Was all she said.
"Why are you sorry? I'm sorry. I literally just shouted at you for no reason." I rambled as I turned to face her as she sat down.
"You had a reason, I basically accused you of being a disloyal friend." She answered now turning to face me.
"No you didn't. You just cared about you're best friend and I just jumped to conclusions because I was annoyed about getting two weeks of detentions. I'm sorry." But the second I finished she just engulfed me in a massive hug.
