My Savior

I spent the whole night dreaming about Dylan. It was a very good dream as a matter of fact. I was peacefully dreaming until my phone woke me up. I groaned and answered it. Is Dylan really calling me at 4 in the morning?

"When I said call next time I didn't mean right away. I meant not for another eight hours," I said.

"I'm sorry did you want me to hang up."

The voice on the other line wasn't Dylan's it was someone else's.

"Kadin?"

"Yeah. That's me."
Oh no. I bet he's super upset.

I haven't talked to Kadin in a while since I started talking to Dylan. Now I just don't know what to say.

"Where have you been? I haven't talked or even seen you. The last time I saw you was at your house. Remember we were studying."

"Yeah I know sorry."

"Are you mad at me? Have I done something wrong?"

"No. No. Of course not and I'm not mad at you I've just been a bit busy."

"Doing what?"

"Look I'll explain later right now I'm really tired I'll see you on Monday. Okay?"

"Alright. Sweet dreams."

"Yeah you too."

I hung up and went back to sleep.

The next day wasn't very interesting. I laid all day waiting for Dylan to call me or show up unexpectedly.

Nothing.

There was a knock at my door. It was my mom.

"Andrea?"

"Yeah?"

"You know you've been staring at that phone all day."

"Yeah. I'm aware of that."

"Do me a favor and go to the store across the street and get me these things," she said holding a piece of paper in her hand and handing it to me.

I took the paper amd looked at it. It was a list.

"Okay sure."

I looked at my phone.
Should I take it or leave it? I'll take it. Dylan will surely call again.

I took my phone and left out the door.

It was getting dark. The sun was setting. As I walked I kept on looking back. I was very paranoid girl. At night is literally the worse time to go out for a stroll all alone. You need to be careful.

Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me. I looked back and I saw these three guys following me. Maybe they weren't following me but I was very sure that they were. They looked very suspicious. I walked faster and they did the same.
Andrea you need to ditch these guys.

I didn't know what to do until my instincts just kicked in and I ran.

I ran as fast as I could into an alley nearby. Damn it it's a dead end!

I turned around and those three guys were there. They closed in on me.

"Hey there pretty girl," one of them said.

"Get away from me."

"Ooh she's a feisty one," another said.

I got close to one of them, he looked like the leader, and kicked him in the groin. He yelled out in pain and his face turned red. It gave me some time to escape so I ran but before I could reach the end of the alley one of the guys grabbed my shirt and slapped me hard across the face. I fell onto the ground. My cheek throbbed and I felt like I was going to go unconscious.

"Hey!"

I saw someone run to me. It was Dylan. What was he doing here? He helped me up.

"Andrea! Andrea are you okay? Please speak to me."

"I'm okay Dylan."

He hugged me hard. "Oh thank god. I'll handle this stay here."
Handle it?

"Wait Dylan what are you doing?!"

Dylan walked angrily up to one of the guys punching him hard and knocked him out.

He handled the situation by beating up the other guys. I was shocked and also relived that Dylan was here to save me.

"Let's go."

Dylan took me to my house. My mom was already asleep and I didn't want to wake her or worry her so we quickly and quietly went upstairs to my room. Dylan got an ice pack and gently put it on my cheek where I got slapped. I winced.

"Sorry."

"No it's fine. Here," I said grabbing the ice pack from his hand and holding it to my face.

"Does it hurt a lot?"

"Not as much as I thought it would. I'm glad you got there on time who knows what would of happened to me of you didn't show outside  turned away. He seemed pretty angry at himself.

"Don't beat yourself up over this I'm fine now that I'm with you."

"Of only I was there earlier you wouldn't have gotten hurt."

"It's okay. Trust me I'm fine. By the way how did you know where to find me?"

"I had this feeling that something was about to go terribly wrong so I followed you when I saw walking out of the house."

"You were outside the whole time I was waiting for your call?"

"I had just barely arrived."

I looked at his hand. His knuckles were all red from those guys.

"That looks like it hurts," I said motioning my head to his hand.

"It kind of does sting."

I handed him a bandage. "Here wrap this around your arm."

"Thanks," taking the bandage and wrapped it slowly around his hand. "Andrea I honestly don't know what I would do if something bad happened to you. I never want to see you get hurt."

"Then don't let me get hurt."

He put his hand on my face and kissed me.

My hero. My savior. Where have you been all my life?
