I've Missed You

I came back from the abyss. I've been on and off and it's been scary. I felt like I wasn't going to come back but something has been making me strong enough to stay and keep on fighting.

One name: Dylan.

I've been regaining my strength and I now I felt strong enough to open my eyes.

I felt a fingers linked around mine. I recognized that touch it was Dylan's. He has never left my side. I tightened my fingers around his and opened my eyes. Dylan had his head down he looked up at me when he felt the sensation.

He had a small smile. "You're awake."

"Yeah. I am," I said returning the smile. I struggled as I tried to sit up straight.

"Whoa. Hey. Take it easy. You're still recovering," he said helping me sit up and fixing my pillow.

"I'm fine," I said cringing. Way to make that believable Andrea, I said in my mind.

He narrowed his eyebrows at me and sat down next to me. "You were hurt pretty bad. You were in a severe coma I could've lost you." A coma!?

I sighed and grabbed his hand. "But you didn't lose me. By the way how long was I in a coma for?"

"A month." A month!? How was I out for so long !? Is it even possible to stay out for that long!?

I was shocked. "Oh my god. I can't believe I was out for so long. I've missed you. I really missed you," I said releasing a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Yeah. I've missed you too. Your mother and I were worried everyday that you would never wake up. I have never left your side since the accident."

I grabbed his hand. "Thank you Dylan. For everything. My mother.." I said realizing my mother's absence. "She's probably been worried sick about me. I want to see her. Where is she?"

"She went home to take a nap. She's tired and hasn't gotten enough sleep. I asked to look after you. She'll be happy to see that you're awake."

My stomach growled. I haven't eaten in a month. "I'm starving."

I took a shower. When I got up from the hospital bed I felt so sore. I looked in the mirror in the bathroom and I almost startled myself by my reflection. I looked so pale and had a whole bunch of scratches and scares on my face. It looked like I had been in a forest for a year attacked by vicious animals.

When I laid back down on the bed my mother was standing next to Dylan. "Mom!"

"Andrea!" She said as she gave me a hug. "I'm so happy that you're awake. I've missed you."

"I've missed you too, mom."

It was a mother and daughter moment between us that I could never forget. I turned to look at Dylan. He gave me a small smile. I smiled back at him. Then suddenly we heard a knock on the door. We all turned around to see who it was. Maybe it's the doctor checking up on me, I thought.

"Hello, Andrea. It's good to see that you're finally awake," A familiar voice said.

"Father.."

Uh oh. Not good.
