A Surprise Outside

I was getting dressed for school when suddenly my phone rang. I answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hurry up, Andrea we're going to be late."

"Dylan? What are you doing calling me at this hour?"

"What does it look like? I'm taking you to school."

"Oh no, Dylan. You don't have to do this."

"I want to, Andrea. Now hurry up I'm waiting for you outside."
what?

I peeked out the window and saw Dylan standing there by his motorcycle with his hands in his leather jacket.

What am I going to tell my mother?

I finished getting dressed and went downstairs. I saw my mom there waiting for me in the living room.

"Ready to go, Andrea?" She said.

"Umm actually I was thinking about walking to school today."

"Andrea. Your school is far from here."

"Don't worry. I'll just walk fast," I said as I sped past her and walked out.

"You're not going to make it there on time."

"Watch me," I said as I slammed the door and walked quickly towards Dylan.

"Hey there," he said smiling.

I gave him a little shove.

"Ow okay what was that for?"

"Are you trying to get me grounded?! My mom doesn't know about you and you just show up like no big deal. I had to say I was going to walk to school."

"Well now you don't have to walk."

"Oh my god, Dylan. Let's go. Let's just go."

"As you wish."

The ride was very relaxing. Once we got to school Dylan helped me hop of his motorcycle. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and walked me inside. Everyone stared at us.

"This is strange."

"What's strange, Andrea?"

"Everyone is just staring at us. It kinda creeps me out."

"Don't worry they're just jealous because they want to hang out with me," he said laughing.

I laughed. "Yeah maybe. Ooh there is my friend Sarah waiting for me."

"Okay. I'll see you later then. Oh wait," he said grabbing my arm.

"What is it?"

"I want to take you to my place."

"Your place? Like meet your parents and everything?"

"Yeah I told them about you. They want to meet you. I may warn you they are a bit strict on the dress code so wear something fancy okay?"

"Okay?"

"Great I'll see you later then."

"Alright yeah."

And then he left.

I didn't know what to think. The fact that I was going to meet his parents frightened me. What if they don't like me? Looks like I'm going to have to start looking for a dress to wear.

"Hey Sarah."

"Where were you yesterday? I have been worried!"

"Oh sorry I spent the day with Dylan."

"So you just decide to skip school and just ditch have fun with your boy toy?"

"Yeah maybe."

She gave me an angry stare. "But omg what happened? Give me every detail."

I sighed. "Okay."

So I told her everything.

"Hey can you help me find a dress for wear tonight? He wants me to meet his parents."

"Of course anything for you Andrea. Oh and good luck meeting his parents."

"Yeah thanks."

"Are you a big nervous though?"

"Yes. Very."

"Don't worry. I'm sure it will be fine."

"Yeah I hope so."

"Come on afterschool I'm going to buy you a fabulous dress for you to wear."

"Thank you so much, Sarah."

"You're welcome. Now come on let's go to class," she said pulling me towards our classroom.
