"So what's going to happen now?" I asked.

"You are going to get better and everyone will just pretend that this didn't happen," My mother said as she started to walk towards the door. "I'm going to get some coffee. I need it right now."

I looked at her as she walked away. She looked so heartbroken. She loved my father but who knew he was going to turn into a very controlling and abusive husband. I wish there was something I could do but there was nothing.

That night Dylan was by my side. Asleep. He was so tired yet he looked so peaceful sleeping. He has never left my side since the accident. It made me so happy he cared about me that much but I felt bad because he needed to rest.

I was getting better. I knew I was but if I stayed in this small room and laid in this uncomfortable bed one more second I think I would loose my mind. So I got up from the bed, took out the needles from my arms, and walked around the hospital. I thought I was going to get in trouble and forced to go back to my room but everyone seemed to be busy with something else to bother worrying about me.

I walked through the front door of the hospital and stood outside staring at the night sky. I sighed the twinkling stars and bright moon were a beautiful sight to see.

"Tonight is a beautiful night isn't it?" a voice said from a distance.

I turned around and saw a girl with red hair and green eyes in a hospital gown sitting down at a bench staring at me.

"Yeah it is," I replied.

She walked over to where I was standing. "So why are you here?"

I was a bit confused at what she meant. Did she mean here in the hospital or here outside.

"What do you mean?"

"Why are you being hospitalized? You look fine to me."

"I got run over."

"Oh. Wow. That's pretty serious."

"Yeah. Why are you here?"

"I have lung cancer."

"Wow. That more serious than what I'm here for."

"Yeah."

"You have this condition yet you seem so relaxed shouldn't you be worrying."

"Well that's the problem I've been worrying so much about this that it doesn't help me appreciate life and everything I have."

"I wish I was that resilient but it seems like every time I trying to forget the past it always catches up to me and it hard to forget."

She looked at me like she was analyzing me. "I can see that your stressed. What about?"

"Family problems."

"Ah. I see. Family can be very complicated."

"You can say that again."

"When things get complicated just remember it will get better. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel."

"Are you sure you're not talking about hell fire?"

"No. You're a good person. I can tell. So don't get stressed out because things will get better before they get worse. Good people like us need a break."

"Thanks. for the advice."

"No problem. I'm Jewel by the way. I'll be here if you need to talk," she said and we shook hands.

"I'm Andrea and thank you. I think I should get back."

"You should."

I walked back to my room.
