Chapter 53

As I woke up the next day I had a smile on my face, I was in the best mood I could be. Slowly I stretched out my legs and arms but stopped as I ran into something, awee sodapop. I love laying next to him, I rolled over and cuddled into him but I stopped. He was bigger, bulker... taller... wait this isn't Sodapop. I looked up and gasped as I saw a sleeping Darry, I started to Remeber the events of last night and I sighed as I began to run my fingers along Darry's forearm.

Flashbacks~
"I love you dare." I said as he kissed me once we made our way back to the hotel room. "I love you to." The make out only Began to heat up and he reached for my shirt, but I pushed him away. "I'm sorry dare, I love you... and miss you but I'm pregnant and engaged to sodapop. We can't have sex." He sighed, "Okay... I won't make you... but don't stop kissing me." I smiled, "That I can do."

Flashbacks over~
I sighed as I got out of bed slowly, then i made my way outside the hotel and into the parking lot where A phone both was. I dialed the only person I wanted to talk to in this moment. "Hey baby." I smiled, "Hi Sodapop." "Are you okay? Did you tell Darry?" I half smiled, "Yeah I told Darry." "Let me guess, he wasn't to happy." I shook my head, "No he wasn't." "Kourtney I know he didn't-" "We kissed soda." He stopped as the line became silent so I began talking some more, "Actually we kissed a lot last night. I lied to Darry about us for years im not doing the same to you." He sighed, "Was it just kissing?" "Yeah. Nothing else I promise, I love you to much for that." He was silent for a second, "I know you do, we're getting married." "And we're having a baby." I rubbed my Stomach, "But you still love him to, don't you." I took in a sharp breath, "Sodapop. You were there for it all, you know that Darry was my first everything and you know as much as I want to it's hard to let that first go, Expessially when he's the father to your kids. So yes I love him, but I love you to. That's fucked up to say." He sighed, "I know, just like you loved me when you were with him." "Shit happens Sodapop, but no matter what I do with Darry your the one I want to be with." "But you kissed him." "I did." "I guess I can't be mad when you kissed me while with him." "No you really can't." He laughed, "10 years later and here we are doing the same shit." "Soda I-" I stopped as an intense pain satrted to spread through me, "Kourtney?" I couldn't answer as I grabbed my side. "Kourtney? Baby please answer me!" "Soda.... I-" "Kourtney!" My eyelids became heavy as I fell to the floor.

As I came to I was in a hospital, the beeping of the machine and the coldness of my feet gave that away. I opened my eyes and saw Darry next to me holding my hand, "Dare? What happened?" He took in a Deep breath and shifted, "Last night when we were attacked, you got hurt." I moaned in pain as I tried to move, "No shit we both did-" "No Kourtney... you got hurt real bad, you just got out of surgery take it easy." I swallowed, "Surgery, what happened?" "When he hit you... he ruptured your kidney... you've been bleeding all night." "What... wait the baby?" I tried to move again but pain made me lay back down, "Kourtney I'm-" "Babe!" I looked at the door as Sodapop ran in, "Soda." I almost cried as he came over to the other side of me and kissed me, "What happened? I got here as fast as I could." I took his hand into mine as Darry let go of mine, "I don't know what happened Darry was telling me." We both looked at him to see hurt in his eyes, "Darry what happened to my girl?" He squeezed my hand hard desperate for the answer. "Sodapop we got jumped last night, these guys wanted my money... I didn't know she was pregnant. I would have done something, anything to prevent this." He satrted to cry, "Darry what are you saying?" Soda asked, but I knew. I knew exactly what was happening. "No. Darry please tell me this is not happening... not again. Please." I couldn't help but shead a tear, Darry looked at me with a sympathetic look. "What's happening? Someone tell me." I closed my eyes as Darry began to speak, "Soadpop I would have protected her if I'd have known... but I didn't... they hit her really hard, she was bleeding internally all night. The baby... the baby didn't make it." I opened my eyes to let the tears that collected fall, "No. No, your joking, your joking Darry tell me your making some sick joke!" Soda began to get mad as he let go of my Hand, "I'm not Sodapop." "No. Fuck!" He kicked the chair that was behind him to the ground, "No. This isn't happening." Soda ran his fingers through his hair as tears started to form in his own eyes. Darry got up and quickly made his way to his little brother, "I'm sorry." "No!" Darry hugged Sodapop and he didn't skip a beat to hug him back. "This isn't happening... that was our child." "I know Sodapop it's a horrible thing." I couldn't help but let out a sob, Soda let go of his brother and come over to me, very gently he sat on the bed with me and wrapped his arms around me, I cried into his chest as he kissed the top of my head. "It's okay Hun. I got you." The lack of my nick name that would remind us of our loss only made me cry more. "I'm so sorry." Darry pleaded as he watched his little brother and best friend cry over the loss of their child. I also knew that he was re-living the same scenario in his head just with me in his arms and the tears were for the loss of his child.
