A week went by but it felt like just a day, Things have been so hectic in the Curtis household.
"Put your plates in the sink before your uncle takes you to school." I said to my kids as they finished. "Okay, love you mommy!" I leaned down and kissed my daughter, "Love you to." "Bye mom, love you." "You to." They put thier plates in the sink and headed off the the garage where soda waited for them, I sighed and began to clean up the breakfast mess. "Hey kourtney I'm going to work. Is sodapop taking the kids?" I turned and smiled, "Yeah he just took them." He Frowned, "Damn I missed them." "Just by a few seconds, but they'll be here when you get home." He chuckled and placed his hands in his pockets, "Yeah." "Have a good day at work hun." With that I stood on my top toes and gave him a peck on the lips before continuing to clean. "Uhh kourtney?" "What?" I looked over at a confused Darry, "You just kissed me." I frowned, "Yeah and?" "And your engaged to Sodapop. My brother." My eyes widened, "Oh. Right." I awkwardly laughed, "Sorry... I just forgot I guess." Darry cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm going to work." "Okay." He turned his back and exited, "Wait Dare." He turned the corner and looked at me, "Don't tell Soda." He half smiled and nodded before leaving once more. I took a deep breath as a headache began to form.
Later in the day Ponyboy and I were playing Go fish when the door bell rang. "It must be Two." Pony said, "It's open!" I yelled and Hurd the front door open, "Hey! You guys playing cards let me join!" I smiled at Two as he sat down next to pony. "Sure, What about you Dal?" I looked up at my older brother as he smiled, "Naw I'm good." "Okay." I began to deal the cards as pony and Two stared at me. "What are you looking at?" "You we're just talking to Dal." "Who's dead." I stole a glance at Dally who began to lit a cigarette. "Right... right... Umm sorry." I sat the cards down, "I'm just tired. I think I'm going to take a nap." I stood up, "You guys play with out me." I quickly made my way to my room with Dallas trailing behind. As we entered my room I shut and locked the door.
"Okay, what are you doing here- how are you here- you... your dead!" Dallas smirked, "Nope." I grabbed my hair as I took deep breaths, "Oh my god I'm going crazy!" Dallas chuckled and threw his cancer stick on the ground while he stomped on it to put out the flame. "No. Your finally sain." "What does that mean?" "You know what it means." I looked into my brothers eyes as I placed my hands by my sides, "Your sain." "I'm sain." "Your happy." "I'm happy." "Your life is great." "My life is great." "Everything is perfect. Just the way it is." "Everything is perfect. Just the way it is." "I'm alive, and thriving." "Your alive and thriving." "Everything is completely normal." "Everything is completely normal." My brother smiled a big crooked smile. "Now take a nap, I'm going to the bar." I nodded, "Okay Dal. Be safe." He laughed as he exited the room.
Later in the day we all sat at the dinning film table enjoying dinner, I sat next to Darry, Jenna was next to him then sodapop, Ponyboy and DJ sat on my other side. "So how was school today DJ?" Darry asked, "So much fun!" "That's good." He laughed, "Jenna baby, that's not how you hold the fork." She frowned, "I don't know how to do it mommy." I smiled, "Babe. Could you help her?" "Sure." I narrowed my brows as sodapop reached over and began to help her, "Uhh thanks soda." He smiled at me and I smiled back all though mine was forced.
After dinner I was washing the dishes... by my self. "Hey honey can you help me with the dishes!" I yelled, "Coming!" I Hurd someone yell but it didn't sound like the person I called out to, soon enough sodapop showed up. "Oh thanks Sodapop. Can you dry the dishes?" "Sure thing." He grabed a towel and began to dry the dishes, "Dinner was fantastic." "Thanks, I made enough for tomorrow night to." "Tomorrow? But I was gunna take you out." I looked at sodapop with a confusion, "Oh... I'm sorry." He sighed, "It's fine. We'll pick another time to celebrate." My look only got more confused, "Celebrate what?" He laughed, "Don't tell me you forgot." I shrugged, "Guess I did." "Kourtney, It'll be 11 Months tomorrow." "11 months? Of what?" Soda sat the plates down and looked at me, "Of us dating."
