"He should have been here by now!" Darry yelled as he paced the living room. "I know dare. Calm down, getting upset isn't gunna help." "Pony's never this late and I can't call the cops!" I stood up from my spot on the couch and made Darry look at me. His expression immediately softened, i slowly held his hand in mine, a smile came across his face. I leaned up on my tip toes and kissed Darry softly. "Better?" He nodded and kissed my forehead. "Yes... Thank you." I smiled my self. "Go splash some cold water on your face and we will figure out what to do with pony." Darrel nodded and headed off to do as I said, I sighed and sat down on the couch next to soda. "You and Darry are perfect together." I smiled and looked at soda. "You think?" "I know so. Darry... he hasn't been happy sense our parents died. I'm glad he's smiling and laughing, and it's pretty much all because of you."

I pulled my legs to my chest. "Don't give me that much credit." "Kourtney. I'm serious." "I'm not that special Sodapop." He grabbed my hand and took it into his. "Don't say that. Your the most special person I've ever met." I smiled, "Soda... a while ago... when you told me you liked me. I- I was-" "Dating Darry. I figured that." "I'm sorry Soda and-" "Sorry for what? Falling for Darry? I'm not. He's protective, loyal and caring. That's something you need in a guy." "Yeah."

"What you two talking about." Darry asked as he rested his back on the door frame after entering. I stood up and walked to him, wrapping my arms around his chest his wrapped around my back in a comforting hug. "You feeling better Dare?" "Not really. It's two in the morning and-" the front door opened and in walked ponyboy.

"Ponyboy! Where the hell have you been! It's two in the morning I was worried sick and I can't call the cops on you because you and soda would be thrown in a boys home so fast!" Darry let go of me and walked up to Ponyboy as he yelled. "I was with Johnny. We lost Track of time." "Lost track! Pony boy you can't just-" "Darrel come down. Pony boy didn't mean to-" "You got to stop defending him! Hes old enough to take responsibility for his actions!" Darry looked at me as he yelled at me after I tried to defend pony. "Hes 14 darry! He's a kid-" "Kid or not you still need to take responsibility for your actions!" "Darry i don't mean to-" Darry looked at pony, "Ponyboy! It doesn't matter if you mean it or not! You still did it." "Darrel he was trying to apologize-" "See this is why people wouldn't want us together! You act like a child!" Darry now turned to me, it's now I noticed the angry expression on his face. "A child? Really?" "This is a situation for an adult which is why I'm handling it not you!" That statement... really hurt me. I know Darry was holder then me, and that's why we hid our relationship, but I never knew that Darry considered me a kid.

"Darry don't take it out on-" I gasped and so did Soda. Ponyboy had walked up to Darry and Darry had pushed him hard to the floor. "Ponyboy I didn't mean to-" Ponyboy stood up and ran out. Tears ran down my face as I ran after him. "Ponyboy! Kourtney!" Darry grabbed my arm and I turned to look at him, "Let me go Darry!" "Kourtney I let you go once and something bad happened." His eyes softened but I forced my self out of his grip. "Kids get in trouble all the time." I sprinted off in the direction Ponyboy did. "Kourtney! I didn't mean it!"

I followed Ponyboy and Johnny into the park. "You okay kourtney?" "Yeah. Yeah." Johnny gave me a hug and I returned the favor. "Ponyboy. I know your upset but you know Darry didn't mean to push ya." "Just like he didn't mean to call you a kid." My mouth opened as I let go of Johnny. "Dally told us about you guys being together for a year now." "Ponyboy I-" "Were not Mad." Jon rubbed my back and nodded at Ponyboy's statement. Just then a car full of socs came around, Ponyboy and Jon began to run. I froze, that's the same car... that stopped a year ago. "Kourtney come on!" I felt my self be picked up but I couldn't move or blink, flashbacks of what those men did to me were running in my mind. "Let me go! Don't touch me! Please! Help!" I tried to get out of the grip of the person holding me, I knew it was pony but I couldn't help but feel the mans hands run over my body. He sat me down around the same time the men walked up to us.
