Magnus walked briskly down the alleys of New York City, looking for 44 North Freck Street. Where Alec was. If it had been up to him Magnus would have raced here without a second thought, and without backup.

But Isabelle and Jace (Magnus was pretty sure it was Jace - there were times when he still thought the kid's name was Trace) had knocked some sense into him. They had, magically, convinced Magnus to have some sort of alarm to call for backup when the time was right.

There was a small red button on the outside of his boots. All he would have to go was clang the one boot against the other, a seemingly meaningless action, and the button would be hit. It was an almost foolproof plan. Nothing looked off about the red boots, they looked like something Magnus would wear. Also, the button could only be triggered if it felt the material of his special red boots. So if for example, one of Sebastian's kids threw him on the ground, the boot would probably hit the other one and go off, just like planned.

Magnus glanced at the nearest street sign. North Freck Street. He had found it. He glanced down the street at the types of houses. Old, rundown, things that looked like no one had lived in them for hundreds of years. This is exactly the kind of place Mangus would expect Sebastian's kids - evidently named Kara and Benjermin - to hide out.

Magnus walked down the street, looking for number 44. His alarm-red boots got stuck in a hole in the sidewalk. Magnus grunted, then yanked his foot out. "Stupid potholes," he said.

Before long Magnus reached number 44. He took a deep breath and looked at it. A small one story house, seemingly with a basement. No glamour. Magnus tried and tried but he could not get through any glamour, which only meant one thing, that the house had none. Magnus suddenly felt out of place in the black-and-white neighborhood, as he was dressed in a red waistcoat, purple pants, and of course his special boots.

Magnus pondered how he should approach the house. Sneak in through a window? Crawl into the basement? Break down the door? Then he remembered, it had to seem like he was surrendering. What would a surrendering person do? Magnus thought for a long time before it hit him, he just had to ring the doorbell.

Magnus walked up the sidewalk, looking at the overgrown grass and chunks of - was that pavement? - in the lawn. When Magnus stepped on the porch it creaked with disdain. He frowned, this porch better not break on him. Magnus ruffled his hair and tried to look disshelved, as if he had just run here. Then he hesitantly reached out and rung the doorbell.

It was only thirty seconds before someone came to the door, but that was long enough for panicked thoughts to run through Magnus' head. Was Alec okay? What spell did they want him to do? How old were Sebastian's kids? Would they really release Alec to him?

The door swung open. Magnus eyes widened as he stared at a young girl. She was dressed in shadowhunter black and there was runes peeking out of her neck collar and her wrists.

"Ah," she said, and Magnus heart squeezed. She sounded just like Sebastian. Well, a female Sebastian. "I was expecting you." She twirled a piece of her platinum blonde hair around her finger. In her other hand was a seraph blade.

"How did you know I would come?" Magnus said harshly. He thought it might be a little harsh if he was trying to convince her he was giving himself up, but then again he didn't have to be nice while doing it.

"You would come for Alexander." She smiled cruelly. Magnus clenched his fists in the pockets of his purple pants, how dare she call him Alexander. Magnus called him that.

"What do I have to do to get him out?" Magnus cut to the point.

She feigned surprise. "I totally forgot about that! Where are my manners? Please, come in warlock." She smiled that smile again. "I'm Kara."

Magnus didn't reply, just stepped inside. As soon as Kara shut the door behind them, the lights clicked on and Magnus could see. He was in a room with high ceilings and a hallway to his left. There were two demons off to the side, watching him.

Kara said something to them in demon, and they walked away down the hallway. Magnus looked over at her surprised. "You speak demon?" He asked foolishly. He immediately wished he hadn't asked. Of course Kara spoke demon. Her brother probably did too.

"Of course," she said. "I am part demon."

"Like Sebastian." Magnus blinked slowly. This was bad. Not only did they have one part demon shadowhunter, but two.

"C'mon." Kara said, ignoring his statement. "Let's get you to your room."

She walked away and Magnus hurried after her. "What about the spell?" He asked. "What about Alec?"

"All in due time, warlock." She said. Magnus looked at the doors on the edges of the hall. Some of them looked like they could be weapons rooms or bedrooms. The farther they got down the hall, the more they looked like jail cells.

Alec. Alec was in one of these.

"Alec! Alexander! Can you hear me!?" Magnus shouted. He ran over to one of the doors and banged on it. "Alec!"

Kara grabbed the back of his waistcoat and pulled him away. "He's not in there, warlock." She spat.

Magnus stood panting in front of her. "What did you do with him?" He yelled. "What did you do to Alec?!"

"Nothing permanent." Magnus narrowed his eyes at her. Kara continued. "He can't hear you anyway."

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?"

"Like I said, nothing permanent." She pointed to the door behind them, the one across from the one Magnus had been banging on. "You'll be staying in there."

She opened the door and pushed Magnus in. "Here you go, and here's the spell." She yanked a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to Magnus.

"What if I destroyed this?" He asked, gesturing to the paper.

"You don't want a dead shadowhunter, do you?"

Magnus growled. "Don't you dare hurt Alec."

"Aw," she said mockingly. "Little kitty is mad." She puckered her face then laughed. It was a sick laugh that made Magnus want to throw up.

"Shut-"

She cut him off. "Ben will be by in the morning to take you to perform the spell. So you better start studying."

Ben. Her brother. Sebastian's other child.

"Goodbye, warlock." She said, and the door slammed shut, trapping him in the room. Slowly, Magnus unrolled the spell paper and skimmed over it. His eyes widened and he gasped.

This was a spell to remove love.

•°•°•

Whoa, that was super long. You should feel special. I stayed up last night writing this....and this morning. So, what do you think about Magnus' alarm boots? They took me forever to think of.

If anything seems left out or not right, I'm sorry. I just realized they didn't check him for weapons, but im too lazy to go back and add that. Plus, he's a warlock. His best defense is spells.

Hope you enjoyed!
