Magnus laid on his bed. He had dragged himself here after thinking about what Tessa had said.
She was right, he needed to talk to Alec.
He was supposed to be sleeping, but instead all he could think about was Alec.
Alec. Alec. Alec. Alec.
He had to talk to him, but how? His mind reeled around, his thoughts spun in circles. It felt like one of those sleepless nights, where you lay awake with your thoughts, all night long.
Magnus rolled over in his sheets. Chairman Meow yowled from the floor. Magnus burried his face in his blankets. The moon illuminated the room. Chairman Meow yowled again. Magnus kept thinking about Alec.
About an hour after trying to fall to sleep, an idea struck Magnus. He immediately sat up, grabbed his phone, and began to type.
•°•°•
It was dark outside, and Alec knew he shouldn't be wandering the streets. I have nowhere to go, he thought. Not to the Institute, not to Magnus'.
Alec sighed, the light from the street lamp hitting the air he breathed out. He was in the middle of having an internal war with himself. Should he go talk to Magnus like Jace suggested? Or back to the Institute?
Alec shoved his hands in his pockets, and to his surprise he felt something there. His phone. He pulled it out and powered it on, he didn't remember turning it off. As he waited Alec leaned against the lamppost, which was casting eerie shadows onto the pavement.
Finnaly his phone turned on and Alec raised his eyebrows in suprise at the amount of messages. He had six texts, two from Izzy, one from Jace, two from his mom...and one from Magnus. Magnus.
Alec felt suddenly anxious, what had Magnus texted him? He was about to open the message when he figured he should open someone else's first. He had a feeling that once he read the one from Magnus he wouldn't want to read the others, he wouldn't care. So he opened Izzy's.
Alec are you okay? Dad's locked himself in his room and Mom's worried sick about you. Stay safe, don't talk to any unknown or suspicious downworlders.
If the circumstances were different, Alec might have laughed at Izzy's concern about him talking to 'unknown downworlders'. He noticed how she was careful not to mention Magnus in that. He read her other message she sent shortly after.
Please reply and tell me if you're okay. Go talk to Magnus if you want, stay there. You can always come back to the Institute if you want...but I doubt you do.
Alec decided that he should reply, so he wouldn't worry his sister. If he didn't she might convince the entire Clave to come looking for him.
I'm fine, Iz. I might go talk to Magnus, I'm not sure.
