I don't know how I managed to fall asleep so quickly- it wasn't even due to alcohol, just pure mental exhaustion. The next thing I remember was Noah tapping me awake. "Antha," he whispered.
"Hm?" I hummed tiredly.
"Party's over. Do you want me to take you home?"
"Yeah," I mumbled. "Wait, I don't have a key," I remembered. "My parents and Viv are at a college tour, I'm supposed to sleep over at Chloe's house."
"So my house?" he chuckled.
"Oh yeah." My eyes still weren't open. I was so comfortable with Noah.
"Come on," he whispered pulling me up. "Chloe texted me saying she and Josh went back to the house like half an hour ago."
"Ok." I reluctantly pulled myself up and opened my eyes. I saw Noah lying under me (not in a dirty way get your head out of the gutter John B) with sleepy eyes and hair. "Hi," I chuckled.
"Hi," he smiled.
"Ok, let's go." I stood up and stretched. "Did we really sleep through the whole party?"
"Yep," he nodded. "I don't even know why I fell asleep, I wasn't even tired."
"Same, I was just so comfortable I guess."
"Same."We made our way downstairs and I found my shoes in a pile. A lot of people had left, but Jordan and Kaller were still here. "Morning Mr. and Mrs. Schnapp," Kaller teased.
"Morning," Noah joked back.
"Damn," Jordan smiled. "You guys shut James up real good. He drove away like right after the whole thing."
"Did you ever figure out where Andrew was?" I asked.
"Hiding in the pool shed," Kaller scoffed. "He's like too scared to show his face ever again."
"Good," Noah nodded putting his arm around me. "Well let's get going?" he asked. I nodded. "Do you guys wanna come over?" he asked Jordan and Kaller.
"Nah, I got volunteer stuff tomorrow, gotta get some sleep," Jordan sighed.
"Next time," Kaller agreed. Noah nodded.
"Alright. See ya."
"Bye," I added.Noah and I walked down the street to his house, and he entered his garage code to get in. "Are your parents asleep?" I asked.
"Yeah, Chloe said they know we're coming but to be quiet because they're tired."
"Ok, perfect." If they hadn't already been aware that I was sleeping over, I don't know if I would've felt comfortable sneaking in. To be honest, they probably wouldn't care, but I didn't wanna risk anything. We walked from the garage into the basement and I immediately saw Chloe and Josh sitting on the couch.
"Hey!" Chloe smiled. "that was insane!"
"What was?" I asked.
"The thing with James!" she reminded me. I had already forgot.
"Oh yeah," I laughed.
"He ran away like a baby," Josh chuckled.
"I've heard," I responded.
"Wait, Antha I found a shirt in my room I think it's yours come see," Chloe suddenly said standing up.
"Ok." I left Noah's side and followed Chloe up the stairs. As soon as we got to her ground floor, she put her hand in front of me, stopping me from going upstairs. "What?" I asked.
"Don't be stupid!" She whispered. "What's going on with you and Noah now?" I felt myself blush a little.
"I think we might be... a thing?" I shrugged.
"Might be a thing?" she quoted me. "He said he was in love with you! Are you in love with him? Are you dating now? Do I have to pretend not to be grossed out?"
"Whoa slow down," I laughed. "We barely talked about it. We fell asleep basically as soon as we got upstairs then we came here."
"You SLEPT TOGETHER?" She exclaimed. I knew she didn't mean it that way, but I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yes, but just remember we were wearing all of our clothes."
"I know, I know, but this is a big deal! This is you and Noah!"
"I know!" I whispered. "I wanna talk to him about it soon."
"You're talking to him about it NOW," she demanded. She then opened the basement door. "Go," she instructed. I did as she said. "Josh! Can you come help me with something?" she called.
"Yeah babe one sec," he answered. I was too caught up in how cute that was to realize what she was doing right away. Once I did realize, I turned around and smirked at her.
"Manipulative," I mumbled. She smirked back. Josh passed me on the stairs and gave me a little wink, acknowledging that he knew what was happening. Noah was now sitting on the couch, and he smiled gently and motioned for me to sit next to him. I wasn't sure exactly how close to sit, so I left a few inches in between us. He had a different idea I guess, because he wrapped his arm around me, causing me to move closer. Nice. "So, Noah," I started without thinking.
"Yeah?" he responded.
"Not to be completely stereotypical but... what... are we?" I asked awkwardly. He chuckled quietly.
"Nice job Chloe," he realized. I felt myself smirk and I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from laughing. "Well, I have a question first." I was almost certain he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend. "When you broke off our hookup," he started. Oh. "Was it because you didn't like me? Or what?" I paused to think.
"It was because I didn't want us to go that way," I realized. It all became clear. "I didn't want to 'hookup,' I wanted to be with you...like long-term." I saw him smile subtly in my peripheral vision.
"I wasn't even gonna ask you to hook up, that was all Kaller. He said we had to before we started dating."
"I know, don't worry," I laughed. "So, you wanted to start dating?"
"Mm, yeah," he said shrugging playfully. "I mean, I think we both know I like you considering I've told you at least three times, and I kind of told James I was in love with you."
"And then you confirmed it upstairs," I teased him. He nodded dramatically.
"So yes, I wanted to date you." This time I felt myself subtly smile. "Did you wanna date me?" he asked.
"I think so," I nodded.
"Think so," he quoted shaking his head.
"Well I wasn't sure what we'd be like together," I pointed out. "But after tonight, I'm feeling pretty sure about it- completely sure," I corrected. He nodded pleased.
"Well then is that what we're doing?" he asked hopefully.
"Oh you're not getting away that easy," I teased turning toward him. He turned to face me surprised. "You have to ask me," I said playfully.
"Ask you?" he laughed. "I thought I just did!"
"Asked me what?" I acted lost, curving my eyebrows inward. He closed his eyes and shook his head smiling.
"Ok, we're playing that game," he smirked with his eyes still closed. "Samantha Marcus," he started. I felt my stomach do a little flip...Actually, more like an Olympic gymnast size flip. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Hmm," I pretended. "Sure, why not?" He laughed quietly and put his hand on my face. He then pulled me into a kiss. Once again, I didn't pull away. It all felt right now.
