Jordan, Julia, Kaller, Noah and I walked around town, ate, and just chilled for a few hours before we sat ourselves down at a small table outside. We were sitting and talking when Kaller's phone buzzed. He picked it up and rolled his eyes. "Andrew won't stop texting me," he groaned.
"Andrew Nicholas?" Julia asked. Kaller nodded.
"What does he want?" Jordan asked.
"He keeps asking if I'm going to the party tonight, how I'm getting there, what I'm doing afterwards, it's like he's hitting on me!"
"Ok, that's weird," Julia laughed. Kaller's phone buzzed again and his eyes grew wide.
"Dude! Andrew just asked if we wanted to go back to his place after the party!"
"What?" Jordan asked surprised. "Andrew's house is huge!"
"Why would Andrew want us to come over?" Kaller asked. "I've never even been inside his house."
"I can think of one reason," Julia sighed looking to me. I rolled my eyes. "he's been obsessed with you since 7th grade."
"So is his cousin," Noah added. My ears perked up.
"You think?" I asked. Noah shrugged.
"He was talking about it after you left, but he's a jerk." I nodded to make Noah happy, but I was smiling inside.
"Well whatever the reason, we have to go," Kaller exclaimed. "That'll give us so much street cred."
"You're such a dork," Jordan scoffed. He shrugged.
"You realize how many people have hooked up in his basement?" Kaller asked.
"Shut up! Oh my god!" Julia gagged. "Why do you only care about hooking up?"
"I don't," Kaller defended. "i'm just saying. Only the coolest people go to Andrew's after parties and it wouldn't hurt to get on their good sides."
"I mean, he's not wrong," Jordan shrugged.
"I don't know... You guys can go I might go home after," I said.
"Antha, we won't even be invited if you don't go," Kaller sighed. "You don't need to do anything, just show up and make Andrew and James think they have a chance."
"Are you saying they don't have a chance?" I joked. He rolled his eyes.
"You know what I mean," he scoffed. "You're not the girl to randomly hook up with someone."
"Yet you asked her to," Jordan whispered to Julia a little bit too loudly. Kaller's eyes darted to her and he shook his head. He then looked over to Noah who was biting his lip. Noah's always been a little protective of me which is cool. It's not like he won't let me date guys or anything, but he's always looking out for my best interest.
"Anyway, you gotta come," Kaller finished. "Plus, the party'll probably get shut down by like 10:30 so you can just stop by Andrew's then go home." I thought to myself for a minute. Maybe I should go. It would give me a chance to talk to James after all.
"Ok fine but only for a short time," I gave in.
"Yes!" he exclaimed and hugged me. "Thank you thank you thank you."
"Noah I think you're the one in love with Andrew," Julia joked. Kaller rolled his eyes.
"Sure, make fun of me now. Just don't come crawling back when I get invited to every party from now until senior year."After our uncomfortably long discussion about Andrew's after party, we all decided it was time to head back home. "Antha, you need a ride?" Noah asked.
"Actually yeah that'd be nice," I answered remembering Viv had gone to hang out with her friends.
"Antha," I heard Julia say quietly. I turned around. "Facetime me when you get home, k?" I nodded sorta nervously. Julia and I are super close, but not to the point where she'd randomly facetime me just to do it. There had to be a reason.
