A/N- contest at the end of the chapter

The next few days went by in a blur. It seemed I had just left Julia's house when all of the sudden, it was time for the Sadie Hawkins dance. We did like nothing that week in school. Since it's the end of the year, all the teachers basically gave up and let us watch movies: I ended up choosing the dress that Noah suggested and Chloe helped me pick some jewelry to go with it for the dance.
"What time are the guys coming?" Jordan asked.
"6:45," I responded. She nodded as she tightened her braid. "I still can't believe you're going with Kaller," I laughed.
"Kind of a last resort," she admitted. "But he's my friend and he's like the only guy who'll actually like be a spazz with me and not just wanna hookup." Very true. Jordan and Noah Kaller have always been really close friends. Kinda like me and Noah Schnapp.
"Antha, pass me the hairspray?" Julia asked. I reached over and handed it to her.
"Thanks." Julia hadn't talked about the party since that day at her house. Her mom was determined to figure out who did it, but Julia pretended like it didn't happen. I feel bad for her. I know she only ignores it so she can feel strong. She hates feeling manipulated, and that's exactly what happened: she was manipulated.
"Sam, can you help me zip this," Jordan asked. I nodded and walked over to zip up her dress. "Why didn't Blake come over?"
"She's going with Cade Simons so she's with his group," I explained. I don't know if you remember Blake. I think I mentioned her once or twice. We're pretty good friends, but she hangs out with a lot of popular kids that the rest of us don't really like too much.
"Cade Simons?" Chloe practically gagged. "No way."
"I know," Julia agreed. "Only because you asked Kaller before she could," she said motioning to Jordan.
     "What?" she laughed.
"She's totally crushing on him," Chloe agreed.
     "Yup," I added.
     "Really?" Jordan gasped looking amused.
"Oh yeah," Julia confirmed. "But don't worry about it, I'm sure she'll have a great time making out with Cade all night." We all rolled our eyes. We're the group that actually tries to have fun at dances; not just makeout.

Around half an hour later, we were all ready and we were waiting upstairs for the boys to come. "Let's go down to the living room," I suggested. "the boys won't be able to survive my mom and Viv downstairs."
"Leave them, it'll be funny," Chloe laughed.
"Well your mom and Noah are like best friends," Julia reminded me.
"Yeah true," I remembered. "If they get into a conversation you guys will never make it to the dance." We all laughed and walked down to my living room. A few seconds later, the doorbell rang and I got up to answer it. As I opened the door, I saw Noah Kaller more dressed up than I've ever seen. "Wow," I chuckled. "You got out of your sweatshirt."
"Ha ha," he said sarcastically. "You look nice." I half smiled. I get random moments where I remember that we dated a year ago and I feel a little awkward.
"Thanks," I replied coming back to reality. "You too." I motioned for him to come in and he turned the corner into the living room. Jordan stood up from the tan fabric couch she was sitting up and walked over to him.
"Hey!" she smiled hugging him. "You look great!"
"You look better," he smiled. "You girls ready?" he asked turning towards everyone.
"Very," Julia nodded.
"Just keep your drink covered," Kaller joked. Julia immediately got angry.
"You think that's funny?" she asked clearly annoyed. Noah realized his mistake.
"No, you're right, I'm sorry," he said sincerely. Julia nodded and he turned towards me and winced. I shook my head. Sure, he's able to call himself out and realize he made a mistake, but he's still immature at heart. Thankfully, the doorbell rung and broke the tension.
"Got it," I said going to open the door. I pulled it open and saw James.
"Hi James!" I greeted him. He was smiling and he reached out to hug me, so I hugged him back.
"Hey Samantha," he chuckled. We separated and he looked me up and down. "You look so pretty," he told me.
"Thank you," I blushed. "Come on in." I led him to the living room and he started talking with everyone.
"Dude, I wish I could've come to Andrew's house," Kaller sighed.
"No worries," James responded. "You guys had other stuff to take care of." I saw Julia smile lightly, relieved that he didn't bring anything specific up.
"Next time I gotta come," Kaller groaned. "Andrew throws the sickest after parties."
"How would you know, you've never been invited before last time," Chloe scoffed laughing. Kaller rolled his eyes. A few minutes later, Josh Alpine came for Chloe. It was kind of awkward since none of us are too close with him, but James and Kaller were able to keep up a conversation about a baseball game or something, I wasn't listening. Just as I was getting bored out of my mind, the doorbell rang one last time. I practically ran to get away from the baseball conversation and opened the door. I saw Noah standing outside looking handsome, as usual, smiling back at me. He's always so good at getting dressed up for events. I guess red carpet premieres are good help.
"Hey!" I smiled. He walked in and hugged me. As we separated, he looked me up and down like James.
"Wow, Antha, you look gorgeous," he complimented me.
"Looking quite dapper yourself," I responded. He chuckled and let himself in. He turned and saw Julia who was already walking towards him.
"Hey!" he smiled hugging her. "You look great."
     "Thanks," she replied.
"What's up everyone?" he asked. "Hey James, Josh."
"Nice to see you again," James said a little forced. I don't know what those two have against eachother, but it drives me crazy; My best friend and my date.
"Hey, we gotta go," Viv walked in. "I gotta get there to sign in by 7."
"Ok," I said. "You guys ready?" Everyone nodded.
"Oh, hey Noah, Chloe," Viv acknowledged them.
"Hey Viv," Chloe waved. Noah copied.
"Anyway, come on losers we gotta go."
