Part 22:Hero licensing exam (part2)

Accelerator 's POV
After leaving the girls I walked over to an empty corner, everyone distanced themselves from me while saying things like 'he shouldn't be here', 'the rumors were true', 'there's no place for a monster in our society' and things like that. Not that I cared that much, what other people think about something is entirely from their own point of view, though I have to ask, what exactly happened? While I was thinking about something else, the announcer started talking.
Mera: Now that all 100 people have entered this room, have a look at this video.
The screen showed the field we were just in, exploding...why? I had to wonder how filthy rich the hero society really is to be able to afford making cities every year, and paying the heroes a good amount, there had to be some kind of underground thing going on.
Mera: The second task will be a rescue mission, the story goes like this, a large scale terrorist attack devastated the area and many bystanders are trapped and injured. Your task is to rescue these people until the rescue forces arrive.
Accelerator: Rescue huh? So they want us to roleplay. Never was good at these things, well can't be that hard.
Mera: The people you'll be saving are from the 'Help us Company' and are trained to be need-help professionals, they're in high demand these days.
Accelerator: You can get by by just doing anything these days can't you?
Mera: The test will start in 10 minutes, finish any business you have in the meantime. You'll be evaluated based on points in this test, so be careful how you act. Whether you pass or not is up to us this time, how you behave may affect the results greatly.
I as well as everyone else knew what or who he was talking about. Frankly, I don't give a shit, but for the sake of passing I'll keep myself in check.
Accelerator: Guess I had this coming.
I had a bored expression on my face while people tried to avoid looking at me directly. I got annoyed.
Accelerator: Tch, this is getting annoying, so if you got something to say, say it!
They grew silent. Then Shindo and his lackeys along with others came forward, not Shiketsu though, they probably didn't care much or didn't want involvement.
Shindo: I think you know what we want to say already.
Accelerator: Your going to say it anyway.
Shindo: Why don't you tell everyone exactly who you are? I think that would be a better publicity stunt.
Accelerator: I really don't get what your mad about, in that exam you were supposed to hit the balls on the targets meaning we can use any means we want in order to do just that. All I did was knockout a bunch of people for the points, you did the same.
Shindo: I guess the son of a villain would think like that. True some of us knocked out our opponents but we didn't do it as brutally as you did, I'll say again, you don't belong here.
The others started saying things in agreement to him, they jeered, they cursed but I stood there taking it with a bored expression.
Accelerator: Cruel? Oh please, if it were allowed most of them would be missing some, 'important' things.
Shindo: You're not even feeling the least bit of shame are you? Damn villain!
Accelerator: Villain? Well if you want that, who am I to stop you.
I released killing intent which made them back away.
Accelerator: All your words have been heard and directed towards the trash dump, so now you can fuck off in that direction.
They got mad and someone said
Someone: Bastard just who do you think you are!
Accelerator: Someone who doesn't care about your opinion.
After that I reflected all the sounds around while I waited for time to pass by. The crowd having realized I wasnt listening got angrier and increased they're taunts until on of them thought it would be funny to drench me and shot a orb of water at me which was directed right back at him. The ceiling finally collapsed and the test had begun.
Misaki's POV
Even after what he had said I still thought it would be scary to think that he can disappear so easily. Just what is in control? Maybe I'll discuss it with Last Order, she knows him best. People kept insulting him but I couldn't do anything to help him.
Misaka: You don't need to worry about him, he'll be fine. He probably doesn't even care what people think about him. Can't help but feel jealous. In any case we should go.
I turned towards Misaka.
Misaki: Alright.
Accelerator 's POV
I managed to lose the crowd or more accurately they left on their own.
Accelerator: It's going to be tough getting a decent position in society now. I'm starting to think that idiots luck is contagious.
I heard crying in the distance and decided to check it out. After reaching the destination I saw a child bleeding from the head, or a cheap imitation of one.
Child: Help! My grandfather is trapped under the ruble!
Accelerator: Where?(calm)
Child: Hey you could at least show some concern, minus points!
Accelerator: Huh?
Child: Don't huh me! I'm bleeding from my forehead, my breathing is irregular, I could be seriously injured and that expression and tone make it seem like you don't care and will put half hearted effort in your rescue!
Accelerator: I've never been good at showing concern for actors, I'm not roleplaying. All I need to do is assess the situation and take care of you, I'm in no mood to waste effort by acting.
Child: But your expression matters!
Accelerator: I'm not a roleplayer nor am I good at being nice so don't make me play along and continue your act, besides a hero has to be calm.
Child: But your too calm.
Accelerator: If you have an ability that can be used for medical attention you would be too, but since your faking it I can't use it, so I'm assuming I can.
Child: Fine...He's over there! Please save him.
I walked over to the piece of ruble he pointed towards and lifted it up with ease and threw it to the side.
Child: Hey there could be-
Accelerator: I already checked using my ability, there's noone else here.
Child: That's a lie, can u do that with a strength quirk.
Accelerator: Bold of you to assume it's a strength quirk.
I finally saw an old man who I picked up.
Old man: T-thank you.
Accelerator: Don't mention it. I'll take you both to safer place, I'm assuming you can hold on long enough kid, you've only been scraped on the head, you wouldn't be screaming otherwise. Grab on to me tightly.
He did as instructed without hesitation. Four tornadoes erupted from my back.
Accelerator: We're going to fly for a few seconds at presumably high speeds, my ability will help keep you safe, so no rambling.
Child and Old man: Rude! Minus points!
Accelerator:(on second thought dropping you won't be that bad of an option, noone would know)
I took off and spotted a relief camp setup by the other candidates not far from my location. I flew over at not speeds manageable for new flyers and reflected any wind that would hit their faces. After being directly above the camp I landed slower than I would have loved to. I went over to a girl who was closest to me.
Accelerator: The kid scrapped his head and suffered from minor blood loss, along with a few minor injuries. The old man was found buried underneath ruble and is probably heavily injured.
Girl: R-right, please set them down over there.
She backed away in a hurry giving the impression she was uncomfortable.
Accelerator: If your going to say minus points to her, I'll have you know she's acting like that because of me not the situation.
Child: What did you do?
Accelerator: I'm not sure myself, let's just say I gave them a wrong impression.
I laid the old man in the spot mentioned by the girl and left the actors alone. After walking for a few seconds within the camp I heard a few explosions. I noticed one was close to the camp and saw a Orca person with a bunch minions, who were scattering themselves or atleast some of them.
Accelerator: (mind)Tch, what a pain, rescue and fight? They've set the bar pretty high, wonder if some 'pros' can do this. Well let's watch for now, if things get out of hand I'll help out.
However things went out of hand almost immediately. Everyone started panicking including the other candidates. It got annoying.
Accelerator: Would you all shut up! Calling yourself heroes and having a panic attack as soon as the situation changes. This was a large scale terrorist attack they never said the villains packed up and left on a vacation! Move the camp to a safer location and split your priorities among each other.
I left the situation in their speechless hands as I went up and sat on a high place spectating the area.
Shindo came out of the camp first, from where I was you could hear them.
Shindo: I'll hold them off by sending tremors at 1 second intervals, get the injured to safety!
He put his hands onto the ground and caused the ground the crumble under the feet of the approaching villains but just when he was about to go in for another, the talking sushi dashed up to him and used ultrasonic waves, like an actual orca's, to paralyze him causing him to fall. I sighed.
Gang Orca: To send only one person to hold us off, you underestimate us.
Accelerator: Looks like things have already gone to shit. Guess that's my-
A wall of ice approaches the Orca who smashed it with his sound attack. Todoroki had appeared after which that Inasa guy showed up. At first I thought it's alright but from the look on their faces, I had my doubts.
Todoroki: You should go help with the evacuation, your quirk helps with that right?
Inasa: Don't underestimate me.
Todoroki shot forward his flames while Inasa launched a fist of wind towards the fish, a recipe for disaster. The flames and wind caused each other to miss the targets completely.
Inasa: Why'd you use your flames!? The fire makes the wind rise!
Todoroki: The ice was blocked earlier! Didn't you do that on purpose!
Inasa: You're the one who did that on purpose, you want to steal all the glory!
Todoroki: Why the hell would I do that?!
Inasa: Why wouldn't you?! You're the son of Endeavor after all!
Todoroki: That has nothing to do with this! Idiot!
Gang Orca/Accelerator: (mind) Are they... fighting?!
Gang Orca: To think you would fight in a situation like this, what a disgrace.
One of the minions then shot Todoroki with a gray substance.
Minion: Cement gun, it'll harden up quickly, there is no escape.
They started firing at both of them, Todoroki blocked with an ice wall, while Inasa dodged mid air.
Inasa: What do you mean it has nothing to do with it!? Heroes are supposed to be passionate! But when I met Endeavor his eyes showed nothing but a cold anger! And when I met you, your eyes were the same, even the attitude! I may love all heroes and things, but you and your father are something I'll hate forever!
Accelerator: What a stupid reason? This bullshit over being turned down once? I'm surrounded by fools!
They both shot forward the same attack as earlier with the same results.
Gang Orca: Your foolishness will now hurt your comrades, I hope you're happy.
I noticed along with the two idiots that the flames were going towards Shindo. I could have easily saved him but instead I sat down to enjoy the show. I'll get nothing good by saving him. However my hopes of seeing a fried Shindo were ruined when Misaka showed up and saved him using rampage dress.
Misaka: What the hell are you both doing?!
Before the 2 morons could react, the Orca was in front of Todoroki and had paralyzed him with the sound waves. Inasa tried to attack but was instead hit by the sound as well and shot by the cement gun. Both fell to the ground paralyzed, however Inasa could still control wind, a little.
Misaka's POV
Misaki, Ojiro, Tokoyami and Mina along with me decided to help with the villain attack only to find Todoroki and Inasa fighting each other instead of Gang Orca. Todoroki's fire was about to hit Shindo who was seemingly paralyzed but I managed to grab him and get him to safety in time.
Misaka: What the hell are you guys doing?!
After I landed and set Shindo down, Gang Orca took them both out of commission. The hundreds of minions started running towards us while Gang Orca went to finish off Inasa. Shindo got up and created a tremor.
Misaka: You can still move?
Shindo: Because of my quirk I've built up a tolerance to vibrations. I was going to use that to surprise him but those first years got in the way! Anyway I've caused some confusion take them out!
Misaka: Right!
I flipped a coin and shot forward my railgun attack devastating the villain army, I repeated the process 2 times more before I realized that some of them had started attacking each other. I turned back to see Misaki and the others running towards us. I decided to go in close range to avoid disturbing the others. I created a vibrating whip sword from the iron sand around me and went in to attack. We were joined by the Shiketsu students as well.
Accelerators POV
The 2 fuckups had realized their mistake, took them long enough. They decided to cooperate while they couldn't move an inch. I'll give them credit for coming up with a whirlwind of fire to trap the fish on land. Todoroki supplied the fire while Inasa supplied wind and direction. The Orca however had something to keep himself cool with and used ultrasonic waves to disrupt the winds and break out of his prison.
Gang Orca: A prison of swirling flames, not a bad idea, but when you make a move you need to think of the next after making it. What do you have after this? Nothing.
I decided it was time I interfered. Black wings appeared behind my back and smashed into the ground where the others were fighting, crushing any villain in their way. I caught the Orca's attention, as I landed between him and his defeated minions.
Accelerator: Hi, mind telling me who you are? I don't read up on heroes that much.
Misaka: Accelerator?! Where have you been?
Accelerator: I was here the whole time, I never left. Wanted to see if this was worth my time.
Gang Orca: Accelerator, the subject of everyone's interest. I am Gang Orca the number 10 hero.
Accelerator: You're pretty high up on the totem pole aren't you? I hope you entertain me more than All Might, all he had was strength.
The wings carried the 2 screw ups to the others after which they smashed into the ground creating a wall of earth to separate me from them.
Gang Orca: Getting the others to safety, how admirable.
Accelerator: All I did was make it so that they stay out of my way, now shall we get started?
My wings grinded against the ground while heading towards him. He tried to destroy them with his sound waves but quickly realized he couldn't and blocked them with the weights on his hands. He was launched back while the weights were destroyed upon impact. The wings disappeared.
Gang Orca: You were after the weights?
Accelerator: You know I've been thinking, this test ends when the injured are rescued right? That means I don't have much time left and considering how you're weaker than All Might, I've decided to finish this quickly. Sorry but I don't have time to play.
I stomped on the ground breaking it apart after which I sent a weak tornado to hit him on the chest. I dashed towards him and punched him in the face making him fall on the ground then put my foot on his chest.
Accelerator: Would you look at that, it's gotten all dusty over here. That gives me an idea. Say, ever heard of a dust explosion.
A wicked smile grew on my face. His eyes widened.
Gang Orca: You wouldn't!
Accelerator: Oh? I heard that line before, know what I said? Let's see if you're right!
I created a tiny bit of plasma on my fingertip.
Misaka's POV
After Accelerator appeared and created that giant wall we knew it was over, or at least most of us. The guys from shiketsu wanted to go help him, thinking he would lose. We heard a few thuds and the sound of ground breaking, after which there was silence. The hairy guy from shiketsu thought he had lost already but didn't get the chance to speak when we heard and saw a huge explosion. The wall crumbled because of the force and we saw Accelerator standing with one foot on top of Gang Orca, laughing, while surrounded by flames.
Accelerator: Well now that that's done, we're done here right?
Shindo: He defeated, Gang Orca?!
Inasa: Without a single scratch!?
Accelerator: You make it sound surprising.
Inasa: He's a top hero!
Accelerator: Once you've beaten the entire UA staff in a 1 vs all it gets less surprising.
Shindo: Entire UA- that means even-!
Misaki: All Might was beaten in one punch.
Shindo: Just who the hell are you!?
Accelerator: I thought you knew that, I'm the spawn of a criminal, Accelerator.
