News of Mr. Schue's hiring as the new McKinley principal got around quickly. I couldn't believe that McKinley was actually transforming into an arts school. It seems like just yesterday, most of the Glee Club was getting slushied in the hallways for wanting to participate in an arts based club.

To give him a proper welcome to the school as principal, we gathered as many alumni as could come back to the choir room. All the new students who had joined Glee Club were with us as well, practically stuffing the room to capacity. Waiting for Mr. Schue to get here, I started talking to Blaine about his and Kurt's plans to head back to New York. Apparently, he was thinking of asking Sam if he wanted to join them. Obviously, the last time he moved to New York and I stayed home, things didn't really work out. But it was eventually Sam's decision, and he could choose where he wanted his life to go.

Our conversation was cut short by the announcement that Mr. Schue was finally here. We all turned towards the entrance to the choir room, cheering loudly for him. He looked at all of us with marvel, not being able to take in all the students that had joined.

"Wow, um... I have to say this is the most exciting first day of Glee Club that we have ever had. No offense to the alumni who have been here since the very first-ever Glee Club meeting. Alright everyone, please have a seat." I had managed to grab the piano bench before anyone else could sit down. The choir room was so filled that there were a few students who had to stand in the back because there weren't enough seats.

"So, Mr. Schue, when are you going to start auditions?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah, I think you're going to have trouble sticking to the whole whoever wants in, gets in rule."

"Not true Mr. Hummel. The New Directions will only be one of the glee clubs at this school. I'm bringing back the Troubletones and starting an all-boys version called the Duly Noted." Well no duh he brought back the Troubletones. Except for that snub at Sectionals, that team was a force to be reckoned with, and I should know. "And we're also going to have a junior varsity squad for those who feel like they need a little seasoning before they're ready for the big time."

"So wait, how are you going to teach all those glee clubs and run a school?"

"I'm not. I'm actually not coaching any of them." I'm sorry, was I missing something?

"Not even the New Directions?"

"Well, I've interviewed a candidate for that particular job that I really like. But until then, I wanted to say farewell to you all with a song that I prepared for this occasion. My life changed... because of all the magic we created in this room. And if I've learned one thing, it's the message in the lyrics of this song. This is for you guys."

Since Sam had found himself another seat to accompany Mr. Schue with the song, I reached out to hold Kurt's hand. I rested my head on his shoulder, letting my emotions begin to build up inside. All of the alumni looked around at each other, knowing that we would most likely not be together for a long time. We were all continuing down our paths of life, most of which branched off from each other.

I hadn't been inside the football locker room in years. It still seemed to have the same musty, body spray scent to it, and most of the lockers and equipment were still in the same place as they used to be. Stepping inside, I saw Sam hunched over on one of the benches, filling up some of the footballs with air.

I didn't want to startle him, so I lightly tapped on the door frame to get his attention. "Hey. Do you have some time to talk?"

"Yeah sure. I can just finish this up later." He threw the remaining footballs to the side so that I would have a seat in front of him.
