Everyone was still reeling from Kurt's big announcement earlier in the week. No one really knew what to do, mainly because there wasn't anything we could do. Mr. Schue told us that we have to push through any obstacles that come our way. Meaning, we have to find someone new to be able to hit all of Kurt's high notes (which was practically impossible).
We were all chilling in the choir room and talking about Sectionals. Most everyone, including Rachel, was predicting she would either get a solo or some duet with Finn. We were all trying to figure out what group song we could sing, which was the real chance for us to shine. There weren't any more Journey songs that they hadn't sung yet, so it was difficult to tell what direction Mr. Schue was going to go towards. Finally, Mr. Schue made his way into the choir to start rehearsal. "Alright guys, let's get started planning for Sectionals. Wait, where's Puck?"
I started to look around and just realized that he wasn't there. Good news was I wasn't the only one who forgot. "Maybe he got thrown back into juvie?" Tina asked.
"Do you know where he is Mallory?" Artie asked. Everyone turned towards me.
"Why would I know?" I shot back at him.
"Well it just seemed like the two of you were getting close at the wedding last week." he said. I rolled my eyes at his comment and turned back to Mr. Schue.
"Now with Kurt, and presumably Puck gone, we are now down two members. So, start to get the word out. Moving on, what are our benefits over the other teams?"
"We can walk?" Santana chimed in.
"Exactly, well not really. They're a barstool choir, meaning that we are going to implement more dancing and movement. That's why we'll be showcasing the talents of Mike Chang and Brittany Pierce!" I turned towards Brittany and gave her a congratulatory hug. Although she wasn't the brightest bulb, she could dance circles around me all day.
"Wwwwait, so they'll be dancing in front of me during my solo?" Rachel added in. I rolled my eyes at her blatant rudeness.
"Well actually, you're not going to get a solo Rachel."
"Finally, what am I going to be singing." Mercedes added in.
"Actually, I was thinking the winners of our duets competition could sing the duet." I wasn't sure who that was, but figured it out when everyone turned towards Quinn and Sam. He already had his arm around her, but pulled her close to kiss her on the cheek after the announcement.
"Ken and Barbie? Are you kidding? Are you trying to throw this thing?" Rachel spat out.
"You know, you used to be just unlikeable. But now, I pretty much want to punch you every time you open your mouth." I was proud of Quinn for standing up for herself, especially against Rachel.
"Listen guys, I've been talking the talk, but haven't been walking the walk. I rave about how inclusive Glee is, but I really haven't been able to deliver on it." I saw Rachel start to nudge Finn to get up and say something, which he then did.
"Look Mr. Schue, I'm all for pumping up the team. Making the team feel special, but that's for practice. You don't take out the star quarterback the day of the big game."
"Hard to say when you're the star quarterback" Tina chimed in. I started to laugh at her slight dig at Finn.
"This isn't just about me; it's for the team." I rolled my eyes at him yet again.
"You are such a hypocrite." Santana had finally spoken up. I was excited to see what she was going to do to the both of them."
"Like you even know what that means!" Rachel stood up and furiously turned towards Santana.
