Thanksgiving

Getting to go on Thanksgiving break was the least of my concerns right now. Sectionals were finally here, which meant it was time to really get in the zone. We were National champions, and we couldn't drop our reputation and title. The amount of pressure that was being placed on us was insane, but I knew we could pull through. My only worry was that our full team had never competed together before. Some of these new faces have never ever competed in a show choir competition before. I know we've been doing a pretty good job in rehearsals together, but sometimes the pressure can get to people.

It was nice to see some of the returning alumni's faces. Although not everyone could come home for the holidays, it was great to catch up with everyone that was back. Santana was telling me all about Louisville and her cheerleading adventures there, while Mercedes was raving about the sights and experiences she had in Los Angeles. They both sounded like they were having an amazing time in Louisville and Los Angeles.

The mentor training was an incredible idea by Finn, but I was slightly disappointed none of us got a mentor. I knew they all pretty much mentored us for the past two years, but it would've been nice to just goof off and listen to the amazing stories they all had.

All the girls had been called together, with the newbie's mentors, to kind of get to know each other a little bit more. Brittany started off, raving about her, Santana, and Quinn. "Along with being beautiful, the three of us are National Showchoir Championship goddesses." I knew the three of them had a special friendship, but I felt kind of forgotten about. Was I not a National Showchoir Championship goddess?

"We are winners. Which is why Finn has asked us to come and shower you with the inspiration that is the Unholy Trinity."

"Santana, Brittany, and I knew each other so well that I could tell by the slightest quiver in Santana's upper lip which way we were going to move. Whether our hips were going to shake or shimmy."

"No. You girls have to be tight up here, okay? The judges love the feminine quality, and the Warblers don't have it."

"It's about being individuals. You know, we're all different. But it's also about synchronicity."

"You know, I don't think we quite understand yet. Do you guys think you would be willing to show us an example?" I suggested. I would never skip a moment to watch the three of them perform together again.

"It's been a few months, but I'm sure the three of us could put something together on the fly." All of us pleaded with puppy-dog eyes, until they finally got up to do a little performance.

~Come See About Me (sung by Quinn Fabray, Santana Lopez, and Brittany Pierce)~

Of course the three of them did amazing together. Quinn wasn't lying when she said that the three of them had a sense of synchronicity. It seemed that after every dance move, they already knew and had practiced the next one for weeks. Even with the lyrics of the song, they knew who was going to sing each part without having to look at each other.

Santana had a concerned look on her face when they finished up with the song. "Hey, are you feeling okay?" I turned over towards Marley, and Santana wasn't lying. She looked extremely pale and her eyes were kind of sunken in. She looked like she could vomit at any moment, which made me slide my chair slightly over.

"Um, I think I'm just really tired from all the rehearsals." Saved by the bell, Marley slipped off the piano and walked out of the choir room. I would've been more concerned for Marley, but she was right about rehearsals. We were being worked to the bone to learn not only the words, but the dances. Learning a new song in an entirely different language is much more of a challenge than Finn would think.
