With Valentine's Day being over, I was ready to start a new week. Whilst grabbing my notebooks for the day, Sam was quizzing me on our chemistry test that was happening first period. I wasn't super confident in myself, but understood the basics. "So how do you find... the number..." He trailed off and looked longingly down the hallway. I turned in his direction to see Quinn and Finn talking. "Trouble in paradise?" I asked him.
"No, no. Nothing like that." he said.
"So what's the matter?"
"I'm just nervous that she's kind of pulling away from me, you know? Maybe I should do something. Something that'll make her forget all about Finn."
"Well that's going to be tough, considering they're in the Glee Club together. What are you going to do?"
"I'm not sure. What do you think?"
"I don't even know what kind of thing you want to do for her. Maybe you should sing her a love song. Or get a flash mob together for her!"
Sarcastically, Sam said "Thank you for those great ideas. But I like the song idea, that seemed to work for some couples last week. But what song should I sing?"
"Just look up popular songs now, I don't know. But what I do know is we have to head to chemistry if we want to get there in time for the quiz." I shut my locker and pulled him down the hallway. I had to grab his arm and yank him to the side because he was stuck in place watching Finn and Quinn.

I was so annoyed when Mr. Schue announced that Coach Sue would be joining us this week in Glee Club. No one was happy with her joining us, not even Quinn who I thought was her all mighty praiser.
"Guys, it's not up for discussion, okay? Now it's no secret that Coach Sylvester has taken her licks..."
"Okay, just wanky." I giggled at Santana's joke.
"And I believe she could use a little sympathy from us." From us? She was the last person I knew who deserved my sympathy. All she would do is ridicule me and work me to the bone, just so I could do a handspring in front of some judges at a competition. "Guys, Coach Sylvester has had her recent setbacks, but she is a proven champion. Now, we could do worse than to have that kind of a winning record in our midst."
"Let me break it down for you. I am no longer a threat to you people. All right? I'm just hoping that your singing and dancing around will pull me out of my doldrums and give me a reason to live. Is that too much to ask?"
"Guys, it's settled. Sue's going to be with us for the rest of the week. Now, I received an envelope in the mail today. We know that we're facing Kurt and the Warblers at Regionals."
"Sweet Porcelain." Sue sounded actually sincere for the first time in her life.
"And it looks like this year, we face Aural Intensity again." I could tell that the team did not like them. It seemed that they beat them badly last year, and were expecting the same for this year.
"Seemed that the board of Regionals has assigned a theme to this year's Regionals, and part of our score will be based upon how we interpret it. This year's theme is... anthem. Now who can tell us what an anthem is? An anthem is an epic song filled with a groundswell of emotion that somehow seems bigger than itself. Even bigger than the person performing it."
Sam raised his hand and asked, "Mr. Schue?"
"Oh, I didn't even notice your new haircut Sam." I looked towards Sam to see his bangs brought down in front of his face. But they were also swooped slightly to the side.
