I Do

Valentine's Day was finally here, and I was feeling better than I have in the past. I actually had someone to definitely celebrate with. But my actual Valentine's Day day would be filled with going to Mr. Schue's wedding. Why he would schedule his wedding for Valentine's Day was confusing to me, but I guess they wanted as much love in the room as they could.

Finn had talked to me about what happened with him and Ms. Pillsbury. He made sure to explain to me first so that I wouldn't open my mouth and shout it from the rooftops. The biggest question on my mind after he told me was if he was going to tell Mr. Schue. I mean he was getting married in a few days, and his fiance just kissed another man. Not being able to provide Finn with any advice, I suggested he turn to someone else to tell him what to do. Someone he trusted. He didn't tell me who it was, but seemed to have a kind of determined look on his face when he pulled out his cell phone.

I didn't see Finn again until our next Glee Club rehearsal. Mr. Schue was finally back from Washington D.C, which was exciting. We all asked him how his trip was, which sounded incredible, but he was excited to be back in Lima. He was especially excited for the reason he was back, which was his wedding.

"I want to take a second to give a big thank you to the guy who made sure that I had something to come back to- Finn Hudson." I cheered, just like everyone else, but noticed that Finn was clearly thinking about something else during Mr. Schue's little speech. God this was going to be a difficult week.

"Now, for this week's assignment..." We all started drumming on the piano, creating anticipation to see what kind of assignment Mr. Schue had in mind (I was being sarcastic). Mr. Schue walked up to the whiteboard and wrote the words, "Wedding!!!" across it. "Ms. Pillsbury and I are finally getting married. Which makes me the happiest, luckiest man in the world. Now, Emma has been handling all the prep, so to help out, I thought I'd take charge of the entertainment for the reception. And though this goes against tradition, it would mean the world to me and Emma if, instead of giving the best man's speech Finn, you sing for us."

Oh my god, I forgot about that. This was just getting worse and worse as more people spoke up. Everyone else in the room looked excited to hear Finn sing again. I was the only one who had a shocked/uncomfortable look on their face, and rightly so. "What do you say?"

"Uh, yeah, of course."

"Perfect." Mr. Schue shook Finn's hand, with a look of pride on his face. Meanwhile, Finn had a look of surprise and shock across his face. "For the rest of those that have not come down with Asian Bird Flu..."

"It wasn't me!" Tina exclaimed.

"... it's a Valentine's Day wedding, which means we need some great romantic love songs at the reception."

"Wait. You want us to be your wedding singers?" Imagine what his distant relatives are going to think. Just a bunch of random teenagers are singing at the wedding reception, that's not strange at all. "That is so..."

Blaine cut her off before Tina could voice her true opinions on the situation. "Awesome. We'd be honored."

"Great. I have some great ideas." Mr. Schue made his way over towards the chairs, to which everyone else followed to hear what the possible song selections were going to be. I pulled myself away from the group and yanked Finn towards the corner of the room.

"You can't seriously consider singing at their wedding reception."

"What's the big deal? It's just a song. Plus, it's not like I'm going to be singing it to Ms. Pillsbury."

"Still... imagine what she's going to be going through while you're singing."

"I guess I'm going to have to find someone else to sing this love song with then, just so Ms. Pillsbury doesn't think that I'm singing the love song to her. Besides, think about it Mallory, what could possibly go wrong?" I prayed that he was right about that last part.
