It was finally Christmas time in Lima, Ohio and I couldn't be happier. Winter was my favorite season of the year and Christmas was obviously my favorite holiday. I would pester my mother weeks before Thanksgiving had even passed to put up the tree and decorations. The second my family would leave after Thanksgiving dinner, I would bust out the fake tree and hang up all our wreaths. I always made sure to buy most of my presents before December began to skip out on all the prices increasing as Christmas drew closer.
Unlike my previous private school, McKinley didn't mandate winter finals for classes. I had two this year: one for math and the other for English. I already had a good grade in those classes, and I completely understood all the material on the study guide.
I was styling my Santa hat as Santana was fixing her eyebrows in the bathroom mirror. "I still can't believe I'm going to be spending Christmas alone again. I just want someone to buy me expensive jewelry and kiss me underneath mistletoe. Is that too much to ask for?" she asked.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'll be spending it alone too."
"Yeah so is Rachel. No offence."
"None taken. So what do you think?" I showed off my Santa hat and new letterman Cheerios jacket. I curled my hair and left it down so that the hat wouldn't ruin it. I did a little twirl to show off.
"You look totally adorable. Sam will be leaving Quinn as soon as you walk through the door." She turned back towards the mirror, as if she hadn't just revealed my hidden secret.
"What? I don't like Sam. In fact I'm the furthest thing from liking him." I managed to stumble out.
"I didn't actually mean him weirdo. I meant like somebody in a relationship, and they're the only couple in Glee that nauseates me the least."
"That's oddly sweet?" I couldn't tell if she was complimenting them or was making fun of them. It was always so hard to tell with Santana. "Oh crap, we have to head out. Rehearsal is starting soon!"

~The Most Wonderful Day of the Year (performed by the New Directions)~
I took a step back from the tree and realized it was gorgeous. Although it wasn't the most glamorous of trees, and many of the ornaments were practically falling off, it was still a Christmas tree in the end. I had to make a few adjustments of ornaments here and there, but I think we did a pretty good job.
"Hey guys, what's this?" I turned around to see Mr. Schue. When did he get in here?
"We're trying to get into the Christmas spirit Mr. Schue. Christmas is totally my favorite holiday. Check out this awesome tree I found on the side of the road. It must've fell off some guys' car." Finn said.
"And the ornaments?"
"The guy who lives next door to me finally offed his elderly mother. When they carted her off, they left the door wide open. So, I think she was a holiday hoarder." I suddenly felt kind of guilt to be using the ornaments of a recent murder victim.
"And the presents?"
"I lifted them from a display from the mall. But don't worry, they're empty." Puck chimed in.
"Guys, I appreciate the effort, but this isn't what Christmas is all about." I rolled my eyes at Mr. Schue's new attempt to turn anything we do into a lesson. Why couldn't we just enjoy this one thing for once? "This isn't what it's supposed to be like."
Mercedes added, "For us it is. This tree is like a mascot for Glee Club. We won Sectionals two years in a row, but according to everyone else in this school, we still suck."
