As Loubna was making phone calls to her elders and Nabil did as well, they all agreed to meet in the Duat the next day, as neither of them believed what Nabil saw or that Jalila came to him.
He sighed as he ended another long call, trying to convince one elder of his clan of the urgent meeting they must have. Loubna came to the living room cursing on her way to the couch next to Aicha. "No one believed me! But at least they agreed to come tomorrow," she said.
Aicha looked at her and said, "Same here." Loubna eyed him and sighed. "What are we going to do now? Are we going to wait till tomorrow?"
"I don't think we have the luxury to wait... but we can't go to the Duat without his elders," Loubna said, resting her back.
"They don't believe me... they said they might come tomorrow, but I know none of them trust me," Nabil said.
"Babe don't worry they will come, no one will let such a future happen. Loubna saw it. Our elders will come around as well," Aicha said and held his hand. He was sitting at the table across from them.
Loubna told Nabil to let her talk to his elders and she would convince them. She took the phone from him and left for another room to talk. Aicha kissed him and went to Loubna. Nabil saw them through the open door, talking loudly to one of his elders.
He threw his body over the couch and sighed. Nabil closed his eyes and flashes from the horrific vision that was hunting him popped up. He put a pillow over his head, wanting to scream but couldn't. The reality of that future put him on hold.
Loubna and Aicha's loud voices were far. They went to another room as they talked to each elder, they could reach. Nabil threw the pillow back in its place and jumped as he saw Jalila standing in front of him.
"Your elders are wasting our time, follow me," Jalila said and walked to the narrow hall. As she stepped across the white door. She looked back at Nabil, who chased her like a lost puppy. She smirked and snapped her finger. Nabil was startled by the next step he took; he was in the Duat realm.
...
It was his second time stepping inside the Duat. Nabil was born into a family with great powers and destinies. The Alaoui clan was one of five human clans who ruled the Duat. A realm existed between all realities and universes.
Its knowledge and power are greater than any human, and its abilities are beyond any divine. "I knew them as the Hunefer; the living humans who help dead souls." Nabil looked around, feeling uneasy. He looked at the humans Jalila mentioned. The last time he was there was when he was ten years old, he remembers every inch of that realm.
Gigantic walls end with the shining blue sky filled with burning stars, neat like a mundane tremendous airport. It's funny how humanized the Duat looked, even though nothing in that realm was mundane, he thought.
He remembers holding tightly into his mother's hand, sweating from the fear he felt. All the elders of the Alaoui clan eyed his small face, searching for an answer to the question, burning their souls.
What happened to this small child? Who curses the legendary family with a son? Whispers among themselves, not finding a reasonable answer. Promised three daughters and no son. Promised a great power born into their blood. They got a mundane son with no powers, yet they promised a future filled with greatness.
