She suggested having the door yellow but with an underneath layer of red shown in hidden drawings all over the door. She drew a sketch of the hidden symbols of what represented them. The owners told her they love red roses and small sculptures of flying babies with small wings holding bows and arrows.
Eleni's smirk vanished the moment Theia moved her head to look at her. "Do I look good? First impression is critical!" Eleni moved her hand and sighed.
"You look fine," she said and looked at the door again. "Let's go already." She grabbed the doorknob, and they walked inside.
The café was crowded with chatting customers. Jazz music playing softly in the background, giving the place a cozy vibe. Waiters walk smoothly between the tables, serving their customers with big smiles and tidy outfits.
"I don't remember drawing everyone that happy and attractive," Eleni said. Theia was scanning the place with her gigantic eyes, looking for her soulmate.
Eleni spotted the handsome man from the tiny window of the kitchen behind the main counter. She nudged Theia and pointed at the window.
As her eyes moved to the counter, she glimpsed the shadow figure's reflection on it. She swiftly looked back and saw nothing. She sighed and looked back at Theia, who stared at the window.
Eleni cringed at the look of desperation in Theia's eyes. "Stop staring. He's not going anywhere," she said and looked at him too. Theia just smiled fondly at her and dragged her slightly closer to the counter.
She stood right across from the cashier who was facing the other way, arranging some small napkins. He was wearing a hat backward and his head slightly tilted down.
"Excuse me," Theia said cheerfully. The cashier looked at her, yet his eyes immediately went to Eleni, who was looking around. His eyes went to Theia and smiled at her.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
"Hi, I want to order, please." She smiled and continued. "I want pumpkin pie and vanilla latte."
The waiter nodded and tapped the order on the touch screen in front of him. He looked at Eleni. Theia noticed and nudged her. "What?" she said, annoyed.
"You don't want to order anything?" Theia said, pointing weakly at the cashier, who looked somehow nervous. Eleni looked more annoyed and finally looked at the cashier.
They locked eyes and Eleni ordered a black coffee with no sugar. After the cashier added her order as well, he told them the total. Theia eyed Eleni for help. Eleni sighed and checked her pocket. And found a wallet with multiple cards.
She smirked at her own detailed creation. Theia told her she would sit until she finished and left her alone at the counter.
Eleni looked at her as she took the only table that had a full view of the tiny window, which showed her dream man working on her pie. Eleni rolled her eyes and chose one card to give to the cashier. When she handed the card to him, he touched her fingers.
A sudden electric shock moved into her veins. Feeling every cell on her body on deadly fire. She closed her eyes and a sudden urge of screaming bottled up in her throat. She flashed her eyes open looking into the cashier's eyes. It was golden, with a fiery red undertone.
Teary and scared eyes. She knows him.
The Electric sensation was increasing in her soul. She felt scared, and lonely, and wanted to escape. The moment she was about to move her hand, she saw everything around her move awfully slowly and the music stopped.
A strong female voice echoed deeply in her mind, almost shaking her steady body.
She... must... die.
The music played again, and the cashier took the card, scanning it on the screen. He smiled at her while giving back the card and said, "Your order will be ready shortly, but the pie will take up to ten minutes."
Eleni blinked fast and said, "Yeah... okay." She went back to Theia and held her hand. "We need to go!" she grasped hard on Theia's hand.
Theia seemed unbothered. Eleni nudged her shoulder hard, almost pushing her to the ground. Theia held onto the table, finally focusing on something else besides Aaron. "We need to leave now! Something is wrong in this place, someone or something is following us! We must go back!"
Theia looked at her, then moved her hand, resting it under her chin. "Look how handsome he is. I can't believe I will be with Aaron! My soulmate is Aaron," Theia said, with dreamy eyes.
Eleni stared at her. "Theia, did you hear what I just said?"
