Meritamun was in the mystical room, staring at the dark sky, strangely calm after learning about her dark, painful past and the truth about her parents. She felt betrayed because Nebuaui did not tell her the truth while fully accepting that he was only protecting her as he had promised Kiya.
Her mind raced with dangerous thoughts of avenging her mother's death, but she lacked the courage to act violently. Even after what Addaya had done, freeing the Bennu and causing it to merge with her, she was grateful for his actions. Nothing could ever take her heart and soul away from her great love for him.
Meritamun's body changed immediately; she felt tickled, and her soul expanded. Her body felt lighter yet stronger than ever. She remembered how different she was before the Bennu, how different and strange she had been her entire life.
Addaya was the only child she played with when she was younger; no one wanted to play with her or befriend her. Nebuaui brought her to the temple after she was born; no one knew who she was or who her parents were.
Hori took her under his wing and informed the entire kingdom that she was his granddaughter, even though the kingdom was aware that his only grandchild was Addaya. Hori declared that she was also the temple's daughter and that everyone should treat her as their child.
A child without parents was treated as a servant and was never considered an important figure, allowing Meritamun to be the temple child, a high status reserved for royal or noble blood. Hori was the most trusted man in the kingdom, and no one questioned him, not even the pharaoh.
Everyone avoided her out of fear of upsetting Hori or Nebuaui, and her unusual body turned most people away from her. Meritamun had not bled since birth, and her body had healed itself from any harm.
She had no idea why her body was this way; she simply accepted people's fear and tried to live her life as normally as possible. People began to regard her as a mythical figure rather than an actual human being. Over time, they were more afraid of her than admiring her.
None of that bothered her; Addaya was always on her side, and something drew her to him. With each passing year, her feelings for him grew stronger; he was the only one who made her feel safe and accepted.
When Bennu merged with her because of Addaya, she felt as if a safety blanket had been placed on her. He had given her the missing piece of her soul; he had made her feel complete, and for that, she felt enormous gratitude and love toward him.
She had been in the mystical room for quite a while; she took a deep breath and started to mix a new potion. She moved smoothly inside and without realizing she hummed the same melody Kiya hammed for her when she was an infant.
While Meritamun was standing across the table mixing the new potion; golden wisps came out of her body danced and curled its way through the air. The wisps coming out of every inch of her body and gathered on the other side of the table. The wisps slowly transformed into a human form with no details.
She looked at the golden form with curiosity, it had no face, and it was gender-less, she raised her hand and waved at it; the figure waved back. "What are you?" Meritamun whispered to herself.
I am a part of you, the figure answered her with a unique voice, but it wasn't out loud; it was inside her head.
"How did you speak? You don't have a mouth," she said and tilted her head to the left.
The figure tilted its head mirroring her. You wanted me to speak so I spoke; I am a part of you, I do whatever you want. Meritamun smiled happily, admiring her mysterious powers. She waved again at the golden figure which waved back, and the golden wisps started to separate and danced their way back to her body.
She smiled and continued mixing the potion. Addaya suddenly stepped inside the mystical room looking infuriated followed by Donggun who looked terrified with blood covering his white tunic and the fabric he was holding. "Addaya stop!" Donggun said throwing the fabric on the floor and holding Addaya from his back.
"You murderer!" Addaya shouted at Meritamun, pointing at her.
"What?!" Meritamun said shockingly.
"You must die before sabotaging the future," Addaya said and pushed Donggun away causing him to fall. Donggun nose started to bleed again followed by another round of sharp pain throughout his whole body. Meritamun took a few steps back. "How could you do that?! how could you kill them?!!"
"What are you talking about?! killing who?" Meritamun said confused.
"Everyone! You destroy everything just for your revenge! how could you do that? how could you be so cold-hearted murderer," Addaya screamed at her. "your revenge blinds you!"
"I don't understand what you're saying. What revenge? And how could you call me a murderer?!" Meritamun feared how different Addaya looked and how scary he sounded.
"You will kill the pharaoh and take the throne, you will destroy the kingdom and kill everyone to have your revenge," Addaya said, screaming every word angrily at her. "my father protected you! Hori protected you! And you will kill them too! Slaughter them with no mercy."
"How could you think I would ever hurt anyone?" her voice shaking in pure terror, warm tears running down her pink cheeks. Donggun gathered his strength and stood between them, looking at her and wiping her tears with his left hand before turning to face Addaya.
"Meritamun would never hurt anyone, that future may not happen, but we can find another way to fix everything," Donggun said as he rested his hand on Addaya's tense shoulder.
He looked at Donggun with more rage in his eyes than ever before. He moved Donggun's hand harshly, causing him to lose his balance again while his bloody nose never stopped running and the pain stabbed every part of his body.
